Don't know if this has any impact on when you'll go but I think I'm going to get the 8.30pm bus which will get me there about five to nine.

Ten of the finest ales known to humanity to be sure. And one gut-rot pyder (sic). I'll find out on my Thursday night shift what'll be ready.

I found some gigs on last.fm that some of you might be interested in. Maybe not, I don’t know. I’ll be going to all four anyway, I reckon.

Thu 23 Oct – Tilly and the Wall – King Tut’s
Sun 2 Nov – Shellac – ABC*
Sun 30 Nov – Those Dancing Days – The Captain’s Rest
Fri 12 Dec – The Pains of Being Pure at Heart – The Captain’s Rest

I think that POBPAH gig clashes with The Vaselines, but I’m not bothered.

*Possibly only of interest to me and Paquito.

Heh, it stands out a bit from the others! I'll probably go, but I don't have a ticket yet. Wait a minute, it's the day after the Fence fest in Fife... I'll get back to you!

I think I'd like to go to the last two.

Also. I'm going to Hold Steady on Wednesday at the ABC.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I've just seen this on the Tickets Scotland site.

Does the Glasgow thread know about this? I'm heading along to both nights, although the second one looks the more interesting of the two.
Vitamin B (Fri 10): From the collective minds of Burnsong collaborators Sushil K Dade (Future Pilot AKA) and Emma Pollock comes our second evening. Inspired by a set of unique musical connections tonight’s lineup features Fence Collective artist Kenny Anderson (King Creosote), Delgados founding member Emma Pollock, a new sonic experiment from Future Pilot AKA V Concerto Caledonia featuring Duglas T Stewart (BMX Bandits) and Alasdair Roberts, Jenny Reeve’s Strike the Colours, Proto-Robofolk sextet The Phantom Band and Edinburgh based singer-songwriter Kim Edgar. Anticipate solo sets, collaborations, Daniel Johnston covers and some yet to be conceived surprises…

It's cheap to get into that isn't it Nicola? The £3-ness (or whatever it is) of it is extremely appealing.

And bother at the Hold Steady cancelling. Nothing to do with the fact that the Minnesota Twins are in a one-game winner takes all decider to get into the MLB play-offs tonight then? Band members illness = massive hangover if they win. Not that I'm cynical...

Yup, £3 each night with no booking fee. How very civilised. I think tickets have to be bought in person at the ABC, but I don't reckon it'll necessarily sell out in advance.

Who's for cheese and cider at the weekend? It's national cheese week and national cider month. We can get some cheese from Mellis and real cider from .... ??

I'm getting stomach cramps jsut thinking about it. Can't believe I remembered all that...yes I can, my beer memory is far greater than my what I did after consuming beer memory. I'm bringing my own 2 litre empty bottle to siphon off Sarah Hughes. I might even use my flatmates empty Frosty Jacks bottles (or his Blue Juice as we fondly refer to it).

Is Sarah Hughes the one that used to be Sarah Hughes Mild until people started getting confused because they weren't used to the concept of a 6% mild?
