And don't forget the water slides! And the disco at Crazy Horse!

Plus, there's no 'backstage' bit where all the musicians hang around; they're usually walking about the campsite with everyone else and in the bars etc. I'm really hoping Zooey Deschanel will be out on the crazy golf course when She + Him play the Matt Groening Festival in May.

In fact, just to recreate some of the mood, here's a YouTube video of someone with a cane playing on the dance revolution machine back at the Explosions In The Sky gig in 2008.

Yawn.

We got turfed out of Patti Smith's party by one of her bouncers/entaurage because we wasn't "in a band" the last time I went which was in 2007. So we pottered off to the veranda of our log cabin which was next door and flicked the V's at her while drinking white russians.

Ahh, halcyon days.
Fuck your tea room.

Might lose my indie cred, but this will be my first ATP (thank god I quit my job and take holidays when it suits me). Would have preferred the Pavement one but hey.

The only rumour for the other weekend curator I've heard is The Slits.

I've heard that too but not sure they have the pulling power for a whole festival. Gladly be proved wrong though.

maybe the 'pulling power' will be down to the sort of names they might get on the bill rather than in recognition of the slits brand amongst the festival-going demographic, um, man

After being really excited about playing with Ari Up a few years ago, only to see her turn up with a terrible reggae session band in tow, murdering a few Slits songs whilst also proving to be a really irritating diva and not as cool or exciting as Cut would have me believe, i was a bit skeptical about the Slits reunion.

But i'm told it's actually been ace and i should get over it and go see 'em.

I have literally NO IDEA who they'd put on a bill at ATP with them though.

i think we had a pretty good show that night actually... although most of the evening has been overshadowed by how incredibly disappointing Ari and The True Warriors were.

think there MAY have been a dreadful local hip-hop act supporting too, but i'm not sure how much i'm reinventing 2005 now.

i'm going to listen to Cut again tonight and remind myself why i liked The Slits in the first place. Need to get the Peel sesh colection too - i think i preferred that actually.

Anyone clamouring for that B&S/Isobel reunion might be interested to see she's been added to the Bowlie 2 lineup. New additions:

TEENAGE FANCLUB
ISOBEL CAMPBELL with MARK LANEGAN
THE NEW PORNOGRAPHERS
VASHTI BUNYAN
THE APPLES IN STEREO
THE DUTCHESS AND THE DUKE
SILVER COLUMNS
Yawn.

I'm going to have to try to forget this is happening or I am in severe danger of wishing the next 8 months away.

Anyone speculating on likely bands? What odds on the Pastels and Camera Obscura? I wouldn't bet against them..Donovan might be worth a long shot... Trevor Horn fronted Yes longer still?

My friend and former roommate Mike has a 2-person chalet and is looking for a roommate for ATP Bowlie. He's flying in from the U.S. I will probably bring this up again as the event looms closer.

EDIT: Found someone.

I'm very happy with the new additions. I wouldn't be surprised if Camera Obscura or Butcher Boy (Stuart's a big fan) popped up too.

New additions are:

Foals
Crystal Castles
Dean Wareham (playing the songs of Galaxie 500)
Mulatu Astatke
Steve Mason
Edwyn Collins

Most excited about Edwyn as he was superb when I saw him last year.

This is amazing!!!

Galaxie 500 are definitely the number 1 band I'd loved to have seen and never will, but this is as close as possible...

I totally can't afford to go to this anymore - I booked the tickets overzealously.

If anyone wants to buy two tickets for a double room off of me at cost price, (£330, which is minus the £24 booking costs I initially paid) PM me.
