What am I to do? How much is it ethically possible to justify spending on a pair of shoes?
What on earth do they cost? That sounds really strange, to put them up £50 then another £10. I guess how much you spend on a pair of shoes should depend on how much you need them, how much you want them, how comfortable they are, how long they'd last and whether you can actually afford them without having to skip meals. Whenever I've paid a lot of money for something, it has usually lasted a good few years (Mary Quant coat, Eley Kishimoto shoes among them)
Karenbee wrote:They came from Topshop. It was a while ago now but I think some stores still have them. I've seen other colours about as well. I have some similar spearmint coloured ones but they don't have the Tbar
I have those in a cream colour! They are sooo comfortable! I got them just before Christmas and I've still seen them in the shops. I saw those red ones in Swindon Topshop last week (I talked myself out of buying them) and there seems to be a few pairs on eBay whenever I look at shoes. I ordered these yesterday:

They now cost £260, they were a comparatively reasonable £195 when I first saw them.
I could afford them without skipping meals if I didn't leave the house and have any fun for a month or six weeks, and they're not worth that. I need them hardly at all, I want them very much. I've seen them in person and they are good quality and would last a lifetime, but I've paid a lot less for better made shoes from the same manufacturer (factory seconds from e-bay admittedly).
Paying that much for some boots would make me feel so guilty.

But they're basically Chelsea boots, right? Nice as they are I'm sure you could get 'em cheaper than that.

I've bought lovely shoes this weekend, thought I would share...

The red ones are from Diesel and better be super comfortable. The other's are Ben Sherman that I got off ebay.

I hope I can walk in the heels. I haven't bought heels in about ten years. But they've got half a mod target on the wedge so I gave in.

These are the new shoes I bought. And I mean NEW. They came out yesterday and somehow magically hit every point I had listed out as Totally Necessary. The style, fit and colours are exactly what I wanted and the price was reasonable. YAY SHOES.

I was eyeing those up in Barcelona this time last week! They had them in an aubergine colour too, which I was drooling over until I saw the price.
Just be nice to me.

do you remember how much they cost in barcelona? i'm going to try and go to spain at some point before the end of the year, so i might wait and get them there if it's going to be cheaper than buying online. i bet the aubergine ones are lovely too!

I think they were about 190 euros, so probably not that much of a saving. They did look super comfy and hardwearing though. Part of me wishes I'd got them in Barcelona, but I had my sensible head on that day!
Just be nice to me.

Lynsey, those are so cute. If you come to popfest wearing them, I may have to steal them from you. Consider yourself warned.

I am very tempted to get some black biker boots. I really, really want some and I saw the perfect pair in this shop today. It is just that they are so very expensive!
I never ever by such expensive stuff, not even shoes or bags... But they just look so cool. And they are such good quality, I am sure I could wear them forever.
The question is just, will they be in fashion next year and the year after? Usually I try not to be influenced by stuff that is "in" or "out" but still... I think subconsciously I go with the flow.
Does anyone of you have biker boots and with what clothes do you combine them? And don't say leather trousers ;-)
