Fuzzy lo-fi, a la Vivian Girls.

the beachniks are wonderful. first listen i was "disappointed" for something i can't even remember now, just because i expected it to be exactly like their 7" on captured tracks that is probably among my most listen to 7" ever. anyhow, i got over it and i love it a lot. viva beachniks!

I've been on a mad Dogbowl binge so far today. But the Middle Ones are sounding awful tempting now...

Yeah, it's been a Middle Ones and Martha day so far. And a Middle Ones and Ace Bushy doing Martha day too.

I picked up the Clothilde reissue LP collating all her singles, that'll go on after the footie.

FINALLY! Holy balls, I am so glad to hear that exists. Does it have the italian ones on too?
Saperlipopette is one of my favourite songs ever. What a nice end to the weekend.

OoOOooOoh! I'll have a go on that.

It's been all Pocketbooks Pocketbooks Pocketbooks for me for the last couple of days. POCKETBOOKS! We had the best band. Why did we let it go?

Mine came today!!! FINALLY got to hear her songs that weren't on Swinging Mademoiselle(s).... And. They. Are. FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC!!!!!

It has her Italian single on it, plus a duet w/ this male group whose name I'm forgetting (its from a TV special).

Cosigned on Saperlipopette!!! That song is ENCHANTING!!!

The interview was a bit of a bummer. I knew she dipped on her singing career to be a painter, but I had no idea that she NEVER wanted to do it. AT ALL!! And her whole image and sound was the creation of her 19 year old manager. But those two EPs are the tip-top shelf of 60s French Pop. Crazy!

The new Kingsbury Manx album! A band so low key that I didn't even notice when they released it back in January despite always picking up everything they ever do.

It's really lovely, a mix of the usual hazy acoustic pop stuff with some more upbeat fuzzy synthy stuff that reminds me, weirdly, of OMD and Ultravox and stuff like that.
