Singles/EP type things
The Spook School - I'll Be Honest

The Fireworks - Runaround
Elizabeth Morris - Optimism
Girl One And The Grease Guns - Driving Without Headlights

Albums
Colour Me Wednesday - I Thought It Was Morning

Pete Green - The Glass Delusion

Unreleased stuff on Youtube

Plus all the stuff I've temporarily forgotten about, and all the stuff I'd really like but haven't heard.

Watercolor Paintings - When You Move
OK Vancouver OK - food shelter water
True Crush - We Like Us
The Pastels - Slow Summits
Rainbowfish - The Monsters Are Coming
Gossimer - Brioche Rib
Katie and the Lichen - Yours Truly
Sloppy Jane - Sucks
Aantarcticaa - Cut That Dead Tree Down Already
All three Iji albums

That's all I can think of right now.

Edit: Franny & Zooey - Bananafish
This one also gets a special mention for just having an awesome band name and album name that go great together.

Albums of the year!

The Pastels were easily my number 1! After that...

The Spook School
Joanna Gruesome
They Might Be Giants
Helen Love (the album was pretty overshadowed by the resumed live activity, which is a shame because it's awesome!)

Shit, I forgot about Camera Obscura. It was my 2nd favourite album of the year, then TMBG. I'm predictable.

off the top my head:

Golden Grrrls - s/t LP
Veronica Falls - waiting for something to happen LP
Still Corners - Strange Pleasures LP
Wax Idols - Discipline and Desire LP
Lotus Fucker/Exit Hippies - split LP
Amnesea - 1st EP 7"
Callous - Fucking Useless 7"
Deltron 3030 - Event II
El-P & Killer Mike - Run the Jewels
M.I.A. - Matangi
Neko Case - The Worse Things Get...

I have it on good authority that the Bastard Noise/Lack of Interest split LP is pretty dope but I haven't copped it yet.

Haven't heard most of the new music this year, much less a whole lot that I liked.

My standout album of the year is Lousy with Sylvianbriar by Of Montreal, but I've also enjoyed Run Fast by The Julie Ruin and She & Him's Volume 3. I think that's it - I'm perhaps too fussy.
Just be nice to me.

Aah, yes!! Meg is so amazing. And the uHu album she is half of was wonderful as well.
Listening to 'The World Is Real' by LAKE. It gets better every time. The other one was great too.

Also, just gave the new Watercolor Paintings album a listen (after your list jogged my brain) and it was so beautiful. They get better and better every record.

Oh, for some reason I thought Easy Potion was from this year, but it was actually from 2007. *Shrug*

EDIT: Oh, also, Cave Babies just came out with a new album! I've been waiting for this for some time, and it's quite good! It's called Accomplish Nothing. https://cavebabies.bandcamp.com/album/a ... sh-nothing
