I saw something on facebook a while back about a misfits covers 7" involving Superchunk, however it doesn't appear to be on any lists i've seen.

Last year I queued up outside Piccadilly records around 8.30am and I was still the 50th person in the queue, damn blur.

The Merge website says that 7'' is happening for Record Store Day. Maybe it's just at stores in the U.S.?

yeah, there's overlap between what's available in the uk & usa each year but some stuff only gets sold in one of the countries. a lot of it's around for much longer than a day though -- i was recently in sf & bought a couple of rsd '09 things.

last year i was at rough trade east at least 30 mins before they opened & there were maybe 250 people ahead of me in the queue. inside was a total scrum. i saw at least two cups of coffee get spilled over stock, rt staff were wandering around waving records shouting "anyone want x?" then having hoards of locust-like customers swarm at them, people seemingly trying to get one of everything (hello ebay). sister ray had a more civilised approach, had to queue in the street for over an hour as only ten people were bing allowed inside at a time. nobody was browsing for other stuff, all of the rsd stock was behind the counter: short wait, get served, leave. if it's not raining i'll probably go there first this year.

it's kind of dumb & i'm not who the day is aimed at, but also fun to have record-buying feel like an event.
