Surely the best thing that came out of this was the Unrest reunion. Wish they'd play some UK shows.

i went to see Buffalo Tom tonight

AND THEY WERE FUCKING AWESOME

also, Bill Janowitz is super-nice

and he explained how his brother's band Cold Water Flat (who i love) will never reform on account of their drummer being a pulitzer prize-winning novelist.

I'm going to see Buffalo Tom tonight, unless we get stuck on the M8 cos of the FUCKING SNOW.

I've been waiting 18 years to see them so if I don't then I'll be a tad miffed. To say the least...

I may have made this up, but aren't Versus touring the UK soon? Or did I dream that?

I would love it (just loove it) if Versus played over here again. I saw them in Edinburgh (with approximately 8 other people) supporting Gold Blade of all people and interviewed Richard Balyut and Fontaine Toups (swoon!) after they played. They were great, despite playing to such a paltry crowd.

The new(ish) LP is brilliant.

Can't find anything on this, but would buy tickets in a flash if true.

Aye, nae bother, the predicted snowpocalypse didn't really happen and the roads were well clear so all good on that front.

Buffalo Tom were AMAZING. You can't really go wrong when 4 of your first 6 songs are Tree House, Summer, Velvet Roof and Sunflower Suit. It really was all killer no filler (I'm Allowed! Tailights Fade! Birdbrain! Mineral! Tangerine! etc) and I loved how much Bill Janovitz really went for it and put his back into it. I think watching 3 musicians who really know each other and obviously still enjoy playing these songs really made it such a successful evening and I'm still smiling about it the next day. It was a wonderful show.

They were great in London a few nights ago... and I'm no big Buffalo Tom fan, only know a handful of songs, would maybe have liked a few more of Chris' slower songs, but yeah, awesomeness.

I saw the Lemonheads on Thursday. They were... not great. From the sounds of it, most of the tour has been decent though - hope you get them on a good day! I can't really complain, the Evan solo show in Derby a few months back was brilliant.

that's a shame. i saw them about 5 years ago when the 'comeback' album came out, and that was really good

i'm quite excited about wednesday. really wanted to go to those evan solo shows, but the nearest one to me was in Newport (i think) and that's a birrova hike

i think i might go to I'll Be Your Mirror next year, because Codeine, Mudhoney and GBV are playing

fuck the turn of the century, i suppose

Yeah, I saw them on that tour too - they were great! Other reports on this tour have been generally positive but the Nottingham gig had really poor sound and Evan didn't seem to be enjoying himself. I'm vaguely tempted to go to the Sheffield gig this Thursday in search of a better show...

The backing band is now two members of American Hi-Fi, for bonus nostalgia points!

ha! the singer of American Hi-Fi was previously the drummer for Veruca Salt and someone else... hmm. thatdog, maybe? anyway, he's now Miley Cyrus' band leader. I APPROVE OF THIS.

i bought the album cos i really liked that song which basically has the same plot as Sk8er Boi (skater bwah)... Flavor Of The Weak, was it? i might listen to that on the way home (i probably won't)

Ha! I wonder if Miley Cyrus is easier to work with than Evan Dando. I bet it's a tough call.

Flavor of the Weak was a pretty good song.

I'm supporting the Lemonheads so Sunday, so they'd better be good.

i tried to blag 255s onto the liverpool show, but it didn't work. and anyway, we're not a band any more, so there you go

We only got the gig 'cos the promoter owes us a favour.

Blagging a non-functioning group into a fairly decent support slot would be pretty impressive.
