And I can hear myself (I guess our accents stand out against all the "natives") and it's so amazing all these people knew the Monkees--I mean that just doesn't happen everywhere I go! And all led by The Smittens? Fuggedaboudit. It was fantastic.
That wasn't me! I can't even sing that good. I didn't sing because I didn't remember any of the words. I just did the embarrassing buh buh buh buh buhs. Not guilty, your honour.

That video made me die a little inside listening to it. I'm never getting drunk near pop again.

I was referring to the "buh buhs"--that's singing that is! They were the best part. It's like you were channeling Mickey Dolenz and Louis Armstrong.

Is that Colin Clary's bopping and squeak laugh in "Islands in the Stream"? Aw.

I can't believe nobody did the 'hilarious' alternate lyrics 'and then she sat on my face, and I couldn't see her'.

Bloody twees.

Aw, man, I'm annoyed I missed Allo Darling. I love this song, "Emily," but didn't realize they'd changed their name from The Darlings and was blissfully unaware; prolly off eating incorrect peas.

none of the awesome people were at the discos, that's for sure.
The disco was ace (and the people and music were pretty awesome!). Vaguely remember dancing to Pulp, McCarthy, Jens Lekman, Camera Obscura, Primitives and B52's, on the Saturday night. Too much ale and too tired to remember much else......

You did see them playing it on the platform on Saturday night though. Right? I'm not making that performance up am I!?

But did they not do Emily as well. I know I heard it a some point because I had really loved the song from listening to the indietracks cd.

they definitely did, because i recognised that song when i heard it, and i'd not heard any of their songs before indietracks.

Yes, and I'm sure they had a cello as well--hee hee.

My memories by platform time each night were a bit "cloudy"--good think I have you lot to remind me what I saw!

I would not be surprised at this point if I'd gone and forgotten David Gedge breaking out into a 5 minute cello solo during brassneck!

i just had the weirdest sensation as i walked from the Naha airport into the Okinawa night: it felt like i was walking into the church at indietracks. the church when the just joans were playing, not darren hayman, but still. !

Hee! Last night I had a dream that you, David, my dad, my brother, and I were going to Disney World. I have no idea where that came from. In it, you were fascinated by an El Camino in my neighborhood.

That's such a beautiful little recording of that song.

Oh, sorry Jamie. It's a video of Dana and Colin singing 'Open Road' on the platform which is interspersed with filmed clips from the whole weekend. It's lovely.
