Field Music, School Of Language, The Week That Was

Just listening to the new Field music album "Plumb". Definitely another volume in their pretty consistent body of work. Who else is a fan of the brothers Brewis then?

Yeah, they're great. Measure was a magnificent album - currently waiting impatiently for the new LP to arrive in the post! Glad to hear it's good.

Not heard Measure or Plumb yet, but the first one and Tones Of Town are brilliant. Saw them at the Grapes in Sheffield just before Tones came out. There were 12 people there, and they played Tones in its entirety before doing some older songs for the encore. It was one of the best gigs I've been to.

The Week That Was record is a masterpiece though, one of my favourite albums ever. The songwriting, arrangements and production all gel perfectly. I'm going to listen to it again when I walk home today in fact.

THIS. Only recently got it as a pressie from oldgreentieon, and have played virtually nothing else since. Stunningly well put together and doesn't outstay its welcome either.

Shall enjoy the School Of Language links this lunchtime too, methinks.
