powerful 80s songs etc

Post by nohnohyeh » Sat Dec 10, 2011 23:01

hi i'm looking for suggestions for 80s pop synthesizer-driven (or drum machines, bonnie tyler - holding out for a hero) songs with attitude and preferably female vocals, in line with:

yazoo - don't go, etc.

i've been recommended the following:

berlin - pleasure victim (good song but not at all what i'm looking for)
martika (a bit too childish and bubblegum)
tiffany (a bit too childish and bubblegum)
bananarama
sheila e
apollonia
'til tuesday - what about love
heart - heart
kate bush
strawberry switchblade
the bangles, the motels, missing persons, the go gos, quarterflash, romeo void, sheena easton (which are all very good but not what i'm looking for)
and
Madonna, Kim Carnes, Nena, Blondie, Chaka Khan, Altered Images, Donna Summer, Toni Basil, Marcia Hines, Neneh Cherry, Kim Wilde
and
Pat Benatar
Laura Branigan (both very nice)

should have come here first but! i'm all yours now
