Crippled Croon and Shattered Shine are just fucking brilliant. But I tell you... Hot Lava... they are the band to look out for.

I'm drunk, I'm sticking a compilation together with Crystal Stilts on as well as Hot Lava, and Hot Lava are winning in the "I so wish I played an instrument or could dance... shit it's late" stakes. Christos and Marianthi will love it.

Oh, and Shrag are just absolutely fucking fantastic.
Too blurry to post on different threads, so do it all here. Makes sense really/

i believe this album is a new recording of songs written a few years ago, so as such there's a fair bit of overlap with the 7" + 12" (compiled on the s/t ep on woodsist) -- four of the six songs from those have been re-recorded/renamed for alight of night. a couple of the new versions are better, a couple aren't. dunno why "crippled croon" isn't on it, though.

of the songs i hadn't heard before, "prismatic room" is my favourite. "the dazzled" is terrible, though -- for some reason i find it almost unlistenable.

great band! anyone buying from slumberland, i strongly recommend the cause co-motion! singles comp too.

It's a lovely record. 'Bright Night Nursery' is my favourite, I can't stop listening to it. Are they coming to play in the UK soon or did I dream that?

I just ordered it. I hope they come and play soon. I'd strike my own cat to see them.

Sorry, should have put this in the "Indiepop" section!

Got the LP (on vinyl of course!) from Rough Trade mailorder - planning to make it featured LP in my December show for Dandelion Radio - and will be playing tracks at the Chalk Farm Enterprise / Lost Music gig tonight! (If their turntables are working!)
Cheers!

I wish my album would hurry up and arrive. I'm more excited about this record than any other for a long time.

Happy to some folks on the list digging the Stilts. The record is now officially out, and you can get it from the aforementioned UK shops (Rough Trade, Monorail, Norman, Piccadilly), the usual quality US shops, or direct from me. More info here:

PS - Cause Co-Motion! singles comp out too:

a few days ago i picked up the 'alight of night' lp from monorail, a decision based purely on 1) monorail have it as their album of the month and 2) it's on slumberland.

still haven't put it on yet. hmm.

Just got an email about putting Crystal Stilts on during their UK tour. Anybody interested? You might be in principle, but not after you hear the guarantee they're after. OOF.

It sounds to me like they're about to sign to Rough Trade or Domino, or someone of that ilk.

£500, plus the usual accomodation and food. I'm guessing 'accomodation' doesn't mean a sofa and spare pillow'.
