Are you releasing something on vinyl Dennis? Exciting!

I prefer it when downloads come from bandcamp because you can get the download in multiple formats including flac which is my favourite.

I am! It is!

I'll look into the bandcamp option, then. Thanks!

We use Bandcamp too. I like the way it means we can offer multiple formats (mp3, flac etc), and its really cheap too - even free once you've started selling a few items via Bandcamp and get extra download allowances.
The default export of download codes from Bandcamp is a bit rubbish, but it is really easy to export the codes as csv and mail merge into something that looks nicer/is a better size and shape.

i always download in both mp3 320 (which i think used to be the default but now they use vbr) and flac, it's great to be able to have as many formats as one wants. being able to download instantly when having mailordered is of course great too.

speaking of which, i wish more labels who use bandcamp codes would sell through bandcamp: many don't (perhaps it requires a paid account?). not a problem except for the impatient!

I try not to sell physical product via bandcamp. They take fees.....

Is it possible to use bandcamp just for the codes, without actually making the music available to the public on there?

EDIT: I suppose this may answer my question:
Q: Do download codes work with private albums?

A: Indeed they do. This option is great for promotional releases and Japan-only 50-track collector's edition remix bundles.

Are you releasing some Dutch indiepop? Whatever it is I'm buying.

Ha, thanks, but no. Maybe one day, if I can find more than 2 decent Dutch indiepop bands.

It'll be a DIY pop compilation LP with 12 new and exclusive original songs from 12 great international bands. I can't say who just yet (but soon), but if you've seen my fanzine you can get an idea of what to expect. I'm pretty excited about it!

A comp. Sounds great. I love comps. I'm getting mildly excited.

Thanks, Marianthi. Will Atomic Beat come alive again one day, or is that a closed chapter?

It's not a closed chapter but I just can't think when I'll have enough money to release vinyl ever again. I'm just as proud of Precordial Catch though! :)

Urgh, the postmen have started trying to fit 12"s through letterboxes again by FOLDING THEM IN HALF. Despite on both sides of the mailer envelope it stating "Do Not Bend" and "Fragile" and having "Fragile With Care" stickers on either side.
Yeah, I don't want the Royal Mail privatised either but this isn't going to help anyone.
Happening abroad too - which means its really painful as I then need to sell another 4 copies / 9 copies for EU/Int'l to recoup the costs of sending the poor punter a replacement.

Considering having 12" x 6" stickers printed in English/French/German/Italian/Dutch/Spanish/Portuguese/Swedish/Danish/Norwegian/Finnish/Japanese/Mandarin/Cantonese/Czech/Romanian/Bulgarian/Russian/Latvian/Hindi/Urdu/Turkish/Punjabi/Esperanto pointing out that if the fucking parcel doesn't fit through the sodding letterbox, don't try and force it through unless you're going to force the majority of your upper body through the letterbox first.
Urgh.

I'd not had any since a Swedish postman folded a Moustache record in half and I got really paranoid and started writing "Do Not Bend" in English and the destination language on every record. And this week there's been f'ing loads.

Re-reading these last few posts made me put labels with text AND picture on the envelopes. Hopefully no broken records will arrive anywhere...
