OK! I'M IN! Just PM me your paypal/bank details/address for sending coins in an envelope and I'll continue in my ridiculously reckless spending spree of recent times.

No day tickets i'm afraid - this is because we have to hire the entire butlins site and the room capacity is the same as the event capacity - so if we sold tickets without rooms we'd end up losing loads of money.

Basically we have chalets that hold 2-7 people, so you need at least 2 to be able to book. Be warned the 2 berths always sell out fast as we have the smallest amount of those.

Bugger. I've just realised we can't go because it's Ralph's birthday that weekend. I suppose it stops me worrying about whether we can afford it or not. Or maybe he can have his birthday at his Grandmas while his parents are off getting drunk and forgetting about him...

I've booked a chalet for me and strengthofstrings, and two other old faces. Another couple of bandmates are getting a chalet too, I think.

My money's on David Lynch for the other weekend.
Yawn.

I just dropped nearly £1000 on this thing. I feel a bit faint.

Thankfully I'm not having a 6 berth chalet to myself, but still.

Dumb question time:

I've never booked one of these before - I bought a 2 room ticket for myself and my wife. This covers the room AND the event itself, correct?

Coming in from Boston, because why the hell not.

You guys are awesome, thanks for the responses!

Another question: Is the venue the bands are playing indoors? I ask because December in the U.K. doesn't seem like an entirely pleasant place to stand outside in for three days.

its indoors. there are two stages, one downstairs and one upstairs, and sometimes they have stuff in other places but all indoors.

Three stages. I think they only used two at the Nightmare Before Christmas a couple of years back, but usually it's three.

As for December in the UK, at the 10 Years one before Christmas last year, I knew it would get all warm in and around the stagey areas once everyone was in there, so just wore a short-sleeved shirt and/or t-shirt - not a decision I regretted, though the walk to and from the chalet was like some kind of SAS endurance course.

3 stages at Minehead - The Pavilion (which everyone can fit in and is akin to watching a band in a shopping mall), Centre Stage (capacity 2,500 I think? Has a wide layout with seats and tables further back, less muddy sound than the Pavilion) and Reds (capacity of around 1,500. It is quite red, but is on 2 levels so you can get a decent view from the raised bits). But yeah, all the venues are indoors unless there's some sort of guerrilla gig outside someone's chalet. However, I'm not sure if B&S will pick Lightning Bolt...

Edit - yeah, what Andy said!
They don't call me Hawkeye Gilhooley... at all
