Sunday is indeed the big clash day

Jeffrey Lewis v Tindersticks
Kimya Dawson v Liz Green
Billly Childish v Woodpigeon

Everybody should watch Absentee at midday on saturday - they are brilliant.
I hope Darren and Jack do another 'Piano in the woods' extra set like last year.

It'll be great though - as long as we get the weather.

Judging by various forums and the EOTR Facebook group, since the Sold Out signs went up everybody in the world has suddenly realised they'd quite like to try this one.

Having just seen and heard Noah and the Whale and Devon Sproule for the first time on BBC4's coverage of the Cambridge Folk Festival, I am officially EVEN MORE EXCITED about this.
These are my principles
If you don't like them I got others
This is my opinion
If you don't agree I've got big brothers

Liz Green Liz Green Liz Green!

Ahem.
You're right of course - that's where I'll be. She was the best thing on last year, bar none. Her voice is just sweet and beautiful and wonderful, like a velvet enema. The fact that she was so scared about performing and had to get a mate to sit with her and just click along with his fingers made it all the more tense and exciting.

I also would want to see Kimya too but there really was no contest. Anyway, if it all runs to plan I could see the first 10 mins of KD but I might get a shitey view of LG. This is the dilemma really, I want it all!

Given that Kimya was such a bitch when she stayed at my house that time, I will continue to avoid her like the plague so that makes it a no clash situation for me. I can listen to her records again now without seething, thankfully, but when I actually see her I feel really angry again.
Give over.

Kimya was just really rude. She was destined to be sleeping in the back of a transit van with 5 other people for the night but instead I let her use my spare room so she slept in a comfy double bed (and the rest of the guys kipped on my sofas/floor) and she didn't even say thank you she just moaned. I don't care how hormonal her early pregnancy made her, there was absolutely no need to be so rude to me when I was actually putting myself out to do her (and the other guys who were nice as it happens and made up for it almost) a massive favour. Pft.

This may be of interest, just seen it on Drowned In Sound

"We think we might hire a 16-seater minibus to bring us back to central London (possibly with a dropoff somewhere south of the river, depends how many people on the bus live there)on Sunday night. This will cost around £20-25 per person and we'll probably leave sometime between midnight and 1am. Whether we do it or not depends on if we get enough people, so if you're interested please post here and also drop an email to endoftheroadfunbus@googlemail.com. Ta!"

Hello! I'm so excited about End Of The Road that I don't even care that it is going to be wet and muddy. It's going to be super splendid and lovely. Yeah.

Because I'm taking TicToc, I will be camping in the live-in vehicle field even though I am a steward. I will be using the stewards loos and showers though. Yes indeedy. This means that Sarah can camp next to me if she so wishes (in my tent). Lee will also be there (in my awning). All good.

I'm disappointed that one of my shifts clashes with Tindersticks and Mountain Goats, and I am trying to decide how to deal with the partial Seabear / Bon Iver clash, but mostly I am just excited and full of festival anticipation. Hee.
Give over.

it says on their website that no tents are allowed in the campervan bit, unfortunately. it would've been nice to all camp together.

i'm seriously tempted to sell my ticket if i can find someone who'd like it. i hate camping, and mud, and rain - especially a combination of the three - and can think of better ways to spend my birthday weekend - indoors, where it's warm and dry. even low and tindersticks can't really make me look forward to it. meh. maybe i'm just having a bad day.

I've checked with the people in charge and I'm allowed my awning and my tent next to the camper and I'll put them both up tomorrow before any of the public arrive to make sure of it too. Heh.

It's only a dinky wee site so we wont be far from the normal camping anyway. And it'll be fun even in the rain. Good music, nice people and fab food maketh a jolly lovely birthday weekend I reckon.

you're right, i've just been a miserable bastard of late! i'm sure my mood will improve once i see you/lee/everyone else i know who's going. i've bought some wellies, so am at least partly prepared for rain, and andy tells me our sleeping bag and mattress have just arrived in the post. maybe i should sleep in/on them tonight to acclimatise myself...
