Literature (the band)

Post by kidfrostbite » Wed Jul 23, 2014 14:44

I figure a lot of you already know Philadelphia pop band Literature, but if not I think you'll like them. Classic indiepop with echoes of Orange Juice, Close Lobsters, Bodines, Brilliant Corners, etc etc.

We've got their new album "Chorus" coming out in about a month and it's a corker.
Have a listen to the first single:

The LP is a thing of beauty

Didn't know them, but found the single in the Slumberland newsletter and really liked it!

They're fantastic! Loved Arab Spring, love this new single, and definitely looking forward to the new LP on Slumberland.

I'm looking forward to this! I love Arab Spring, Push Up Bra went on every single mixtape I made for a while.

Literature are at the end of a seven week 40+ date tour, having travelled thousands of miles by van playing indie grottos all over the USA. That's putting in the work to support their fine album Chorus, a record which would not sound out of place on Factory Benelux in 1982, or as a cycle of singles on Sarah in 1988, but is of course right at home on Slumberland in 2014. Literature finish the tour with three appearances at CMJ Music fest in NYC.

Literature, noteworthy!
