Jeez, wow! - I'm in love with these, especially Catholicked. There's a feature on Fire Escape Talking, here:-

And the "band" is here:-

Great songs on the myspace page!!
Similar to the Vivian Girls but in my opinion much better.
Just ordered the single and am eagerly awaiting the next few releases

Ooh, this is good. Thanks Pete! It's all a bit dark but poppy and melodic as well. The harmonies are lovely.

didn't realise there was a 7" out yet -- what label's it on / where did you order it from?

Yes, received my copy of the EP in the mail last week and have been listening to it constantly over the past few days. Hooked me in a way that the Vivian Girls record never did. ("Hey Sis" is probably my favorite.) Believe she's playing at the Smell here in LA in May? Can't wait.

(Also, this is my first post on this board. Hello.)

And our trip to LA is about 2 weeks too early. Oh well. Perhaps we'll invite her up to SF for our thing there.

(Hi, and welcome)

looks like the 7" on hozac will only be available if you sign up for their 'hookup klub' of ten 7"s (info here)

i've read elsewhere that the 12" on captured tracks will be out in early february.

cd-r arrived last week, been listening to it a lot. i like how varied the songs are. just wish they hadn't used discs that are shiny silver both sides, keep putting it in my player upside down!

Yes i emailed Hozac about this earlier this week but no reply so far. Is it not that you have to buy the 4 singles together or are you locked in every month?

You guys might have already seen this, but it looks like she'll have a few for sale separately as well:

from http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuse ... =465914472
January 23, 2009 - Friday

info RE: hozac 7"

the "longhair" 7" ("longhair" b/w "mercury mary" & everly bro's "let it be me") is being released as part of hozac's new "hookup klub". you have to have a subscription to it & you purchase the following bands' singles all at once:

1. ddg
2. idle times
3. woven bones
4. art thieves
5. white mystery
6. mother of tears
7. flight
8. teepee
9. box elders
10. teeth

HOWEVER i will have 65 copies to sell separately. just a heads up. no pre orders cuz i'll fuck them up. i'll bulletin when the time has come.

really excited!!!

Like a lot of the songs that the label has on their My Space. Think I'll just subscribe to the single club.

three of the five songs on the cd-r are on upcoming releases ("catholicked" + "hey sis" on the 12", "longhair" on the 7")

hozac is a great label. but based on the songs on their myspace & the list of future projects, captured tracks looks set to be my new favourite label.
