Do you want to crash at ours in the spare room? You're more than welcome, it'll save you a bit of cash and it'll never get booked out.

I'll FB you some after gig linkage.

aw, that's really, really kind of you to offer! i'm going to be coming with at least one friend though, maybe two (it's all a bit up in the air at the moment, so i'm not sure who is coming and who isn't), so i wouldn't want to impose. but i really appreciate the offer! we should definitely get a drink before/after the show though.

I posted on my Facebook but I'll post here too in case anyone wants to buy two tickets that are seats next to one another. If not, I'll sell them as singles and I've got one person in mind for that already. So please respond within a day if you're interested!

LONDON
**************
I have two Magnetic Fields tickets for sale for their show next Monday, the 22. They are 'Level minus 1 (so, like, the FLOOR), door 3, stalls, seats M63 + M64'. Gee, how complicated! The tickets were £24.55 each but £51.10 total. Probably easiest to sell them as a pair. I'm going to the show so can hand them over there... or I'm certainly swanning about this weekend and can meet you out and about to do a DEAL. Let me know!

last week's was, I think, maybe, the best I've heard from them. I think because Claudia was on a keyboard instead of a proper piano, they played some more rockin' songs than usual. I couldn't sit still! You guys are in for a treat.
Butt.

yeah, the tram runs from piccadilly to victoria station (which is 5 minutes walk away) or the stop before (which is probably a little less than 5 minutes walk away.)
it's only about 20 minutes walk from piccadilly to the venue though, and it's a pretty straighforward walk down piccadilly gardens, market street (the main shopping street) and deansgate (the main short skirt drinking street.)

so bloody excited.

if it gets to the point where you're willing to sell them individually, i'd love to take one.

Me and the Ms will be going for a booze in Sinclairs beforehand, say about 7ish. Which is a really olde looking pub right next to the catherdral. Facing Selfridges.

If it's sunny it's fun sitting outside in the hazy setting sunshine.

well that was a bit bloody good!

kiss me like you mean it, you must be out of yr mind and luckiest guy couldnt have been a more perfect opener. other mentionable highlights included 100,000 fireflies, papa was a rodeo, tongue tied, i dont want to get over you, the flowers she said she sent, the nuns litany, all the umbrellas in london.. loads more, i cant even remember!

was great to see/hear them with shirley (far left or was that claudia? my eyesight was playing up and i couldnt see much due to a pilar) but it made quite a different sound to last seeing them as a quartet..

lovely to see everyone too, sorry i had to dash at the end for my train.. zzz so tired now!

yes, that was rather lovely.

shirley (who was indeed far left) sounded amazing. i never realised how beautiful i find her voice; and she definitely added to the set-up.

every song was like its own little story. i was grinning all night.

interlude and walk the lonely road we my two highlights. but it was all so enjoyable that i'm not disappointed that i can list 20 songs they didn't play which i'd have loved to hear.

when can we all do it again?

Yes, likewise it was amazing. But the venue isn't the place to be when you're a bit pissed and need a wee every 3 or 4 songs. Everytime I clattered past a chair it echoed and even my waterproof anorak was amplified ten fold. Then again, it was £1.76 a pint at the pub next door.

But awesome. Very, very awesome.

Surely both Shirley and Claudia were there? Also, was there an opening act. On the Barbican's web site there's no mention of one. I was saying today that it would be fantastic if they played long enough to have two sets sliced up with an intermission. Since they're only doing these 3 UK shows, it'd be quite a treat, no?

Oh and 'The Flowers She Sent and the Flowers She Said She Sent' - awesome! I'm not sure I've ever heard that one live.

yeah, both shirley and claudia were there. i was just clarifying the location of one relative to the other.

no support, just 2 hours of unbridled magnetic fields complete with interval.

What pub is everyone meeting in before the gig?

Also, potentially, I may have a spare.

Strange Powers, a documentary about the Magnetic Fields, is being shown at the Full Frame Festival on Saturday, April 10. The description sounds pretty good, maybe it will come out on DVD sometime.
