no, having passes for friday and saturday night is just fine.
who else from the uk (and other places) is coming?
also, we're most likely having a bbq on saturday afternoon (8, november) for bands and guests as a kind of social thing.
sometimes at shows, people don't really get to know each other because there is so much going on.
last year we did this and there around 35 people at our house. it was AWESOME! oh yeah it was and will be vegetarian and non and there will be cheap beer, wooo!

I think maybe only two of us anorak attendees are coming from the UK. I'm not sure about other places.

Yep--they're great! They rocked NYC Popfest.

(mind you, the first time I saw them live they were really terrible. I hope they don't see this.)

YES. the lead singer looks like jamie c, and that's only one of the great things about them.

also: could you please, please try to get the ballet? i will personally shell out for their grossbus tickets - anything. they have new songs on myspace. it seems like it should be perfect timing. i would absolutely poop with joy if they played at this.

also also: they may be elsewhere in the world touring their new album on the weekend in question, but if the besties are available, could you invite them, too? all their songs are perfect and they're pretty much the best band ever. (tied.)

Unfortunately the besties will be touring and we're bummed they can't make it. :(

We'll be looking at who will stay and who will go (as in not make it) soon!

I would poop with joy (though, is that really a selling point for our argument?) AND chip in for a nice bus!

Is Peter Pan a grossbus or a chickenbus?

neither? ratso rizzo peeing himself and dying next to you is peter pan; a shitfaced but otherwise healthy college student plarfing is grossbus/chickenbus. (i'm basing this on true facts.)

Peter Pan is the best of the buses; maybe right behind Greyhound. That's what I used to take to visit my friends at UMass Amherst. The chickenbus is the Fun Wah (brand), or Chinatown (generic), bus (immortalized in that Bishop Allen song, speaking of which...)

I know some of these are very heavy hitters, but I thought I'd just throw 'em out if you're asking for requests:

THE BALLET
eux autres
mountain goats
math & physics club
scotland yard gospel choir
emmy the great
bishop allen
okkervil river
cars can be blue
elf power
oh fortuna

thank you for your consideration(!)

eux autres is a good suggestion, I love them - but they are on the other side of the country! I don't think that could work. :)

I had a mini correspondence w/Nick (the brother) and he said they might come out for CMJ. It can't hurt to ask? You've got some coming from Europe--a lot more expensive than flights from Oregon!

CMJ is too commercial; it can kiss my butt.

I talked to rikky from the besties tonight. even thought they were supposed to be out on tour, the still may play on friday 7, november!
how exciting!!!!!!

also my teenage stride has sort of disbanded. they are down to two members, brett and jed, but they may re-group to play the popfest.

stay tuned.

This blog post crosses over into observations in nature, as well as cupcakes and crafts, but here is an update on the 5th Anniversary Popfest New England CDr comp box sets that I am making by hand!
