As well as obviously enjoying the best that Indie music has put my way over the last 25 or so years - I spend quite a bit of time playing online (and occasionaly live ) poker
I was wondering if many others here also do and if anyone would fancy a low stakes game - if enough were intrested maybe even a indie poker league - just a thought ...........

I only played my first poker game about 3 months ago having always thought it looked well complicated, and i'm still not too sure of what i'm doing, but it was a right good laugh.
I've tried playing on facebook too just to learn really but as its not for real money i generally get too reckless.
If there was a low stakes game though and the emphasis was on FUN, then count me in!

I have to agree that playing for free/fun chips doesn't really help you to learn the game at all , as everyone plays like maniacs .
Even playing for a few pennies makes the game so much better cos people wanna win.
I am only thinking of getting this ready purely for light hearted entertainment ie a bit of banter and the such .....
The other thing I will need to know is if anyone all ready plays a poker site somewhere , could they please let me know which - so I can try to figure out where we may play.
I will hopefully leave this post like this for a few days too try and gauge the level of intrest .

i love poker. i wish i were better at it but i refuse to play it online. how can it possibly be any fun without the beer and the looking at people suspiciously and chain smoking and the clink of poker chips and the shuffling and dealing?

neato! as you americans are want to say. will it get me one of your 'twinkies' or 'fudgesicles' or 'congressional medal of honour'?'

no, none of those things! i've actually been trying to think about what you can get for 40 cents and nothing is coming to me. there are machines that ask for 25 cents and then give you some candy but then you'd have 15 cents left over and you really can't do anything with 15 cents. i don't even think you can park for that amount of money. and this has been civics and math for 6 year olds with cuppie and jamiec.
