jesus christ, that is a fit cat. best looking cat on anorak, and that's going some. is that had plastic surgery or something to make it look like that?

i'm currently entirely jealous of all yous having cat ownership, i swear i'd never be sad if i had one. unfortunately with my job and being stuck renting forever i reckon the first time i'll get to have one is probably upon entering a retirement home. can someone lend me a cat?

<3 Thanks for all the kind words. Here are some more of my cat. Her name is Butters, by the way, it's a weird name for a girl cat but it works.

Ahahaha! I love that. Our cats are all rubbish in comparison. The closest the moody boy cat gets to that is when he waves his arse in my face.

Also, that photo of Butters in the ramen box is the best thing ever.

I like the one where she is winking at me.

Moppet used to sit on my amp a lot in our old place, but she doesn't do it since we moved, how odd.

Maybe it's because the amp is now in the guest room, and there's soft furnishing in there.

I get the feeling cat just likes sitting on pedestal like objects (cue laugh track) because people are forced to pay attention to her that way. The same way that cats will often sit down on your arms when you're typing. Cats are just lovely, lovely things. Always want attention but at their own pleasure. <3

I am so jealous of the Bengal! She's a beauty! I nearly acquired one recently but to cut a long and boring story short I didn't. Besides, she would have made The Sam even more semi-feral and mumpy so it's probably for the best. I'll upload a photo of him in the bath doing his best PTSD after being Frontlined.

What a cat. Is she affectionate? Something I've heard about those 'designer cats' is that they can be a bit aloof, as they're genetically closer to wild cats than they are to domestic moggies. Happy to be corrected though.

Bengals are extremely affectionate and very attention seeking. To the point where if you don't want a cat that gets in your face, you shouldn't get one. They're definitely cats for cat lovers. If you want one that only occasionally meows for food, you can't have a Bengal. I think mine meows just to hear her voice. My kind of girl.

They're a bit wild but they're meant to be very house friendly. I know what you get about a lot of designer cats, but I think you have to remember that most of those purebred type cats are quite a bit inbred because they try to capitalize on a look that is not altogether cat-like and so they're not altogether healthy as a result. Bengals are actually bred from two different species and they're bred to have very traditionally cat-like features so they are very genetically strong, perhaps even stronger than your usual cat. They're very vigorous animals.

And as a result of their wild hybridization, I think they're actually lower maintenance than most house cats when it comes to survivability. What I mean is that I leave water and food out for my cat 24/7, and honestly, if I left for a week and came back, she would be absolutely fine without any supervision. She finds her own ways to exercise (running around the apartment) and only feeds herself as much as she needs to, and she is super healthy and fit, and I have nothing to do with that. That's just her instincts. However, they require a lot of love and interaction. I would love to get her another cat to play with. I think contrary to common sense, two Bengals are actually easier to keep than one Bengal because they're so independent when it comes to basic care that having two cats can cut down on the attention needed per cat to the point where it's actually even easier than having one cat.

Check out some videos on Bengals to see what I mean. They're very smart, too. Some people even get them to respond to commands. I'm too lazy for that, but I know they're capable.

I absolutely agree with you there.

Moppet is very vocal and affectionate. I am fairly sure she gets bored when we are at work.

If we could have had two cats, then I would have done that and I think it would have been better for her.

However, she is now 16 years old, set in her ways and does NOT play well with other cats.

I know people who got a second cat, only to find their original cat took umbridge and left and that would destroy me. Moppet was my family cat when I was a teenager, she is a great and loyal friend and absolutely irreplaceable. It's great that my parents asked if I could take her, best favour they ever asked of me.

In the future though, if there are other cats in our life, I think we'll get two for the very reasons you mentioned above.

Frida (in this picture with Sam, a few weeks back) is sick. The vet says she's not going to make it and has probably not more than 2 months to live. Poor girl. We won't give up so easily, of course. I'll do some catprayers tonight.

Still, it's probably time we need to bring up the subject of death to Sam for the first time, I fear.

Aw Dennis. I'm so sorry to hear that. Does the vet think there is any way to make her better at all? That photo is so lovely <3

My cat is really very vocal as well. She even makes weird little meows and quacky noises in response to people talking when she's falling asleep. I always felt a bit guilty leaving her because she loves company and I felt like she'd do well with other cats but she'd been given away by her previous owners after falling out with their other cats while she was pregnant, so I wasn't sure what was best. When I moved in with my boyfriend we had to merge our collection of cats and I was a bit worried about it, but it has turned out (probably) as well as I could have hoped. Her and the boy cat are still a bit aloof with each other but they've settled down, and the girl kitten is such a little suck up that she'd get along with anyone and anything. I think Star sometimes gets a bit "WTF?!" with the kittens, but in those instances she just goes and finds a quiet spot for a few hours. It's brilliant watching them try to trick each other, too. They're forever divebombing each other from shelves or the arm of the sofa.

Yeah I found the loose floorboards and pulled them back up but not before ripping a hole in the wall where I initially thought she was.

What a horrible situation to be placed in. I hope said builder will fix all of this free of charge and that your poor cat is alright.
