Hee, fair enough - we don't mind losing out to the Mary Chain!

Thanks Pete - see you on the barge in a few weeks! :-)

We had our first rehearsal in weeks for this just now and it turns I haven't completely forgotten how to play music. I'm still dead nervous though. Maybe I'll just play loud and enthusiastically to cover it up.

I'm looking forward to seeing you play, and loud and enthusiastic is fine by me!

Hehe, thank you! Oh, it turns out I have a guestlist type place for tonight if you want it, mate. Send me a pm if you do!

I'm gutted, literally, to be missing this tonight

if anyone is reading this and can go (geography, available cash money, etc all in your favour) but is maybe dithering (is that a word?) then I urge from the very depths of my being: GO!!!

it's a dream line-up

what else are you going to do on a wet wednesday evening in march?

I annoyed that I missing this one too - shame the Mary Chain cancelled the 11th March - as I would have just seen that one and then done this as well.

What a lovely evening. Thanks to everyone who came along and cheered during Pocketbooks.

The Give It Ups were great, totally shambolic of course in a charming Salty Pirates way.

It was probably the best I've seen The Sunny Street too - but they need to play to a quieter crowd than lastnight.

And The School 7" is finally out!

Heh, thank you. I hope I was contributing more to the togetherness and less to the shambolism.

You and the School and Sunny Street were quite, quite marvellous. What was that new-old one you played? Andy's keyboard part is really really pretty in the best old belle and sebastian way.

They seem like nice folk that run that night, don't they; I wasn't quite sure what to expect.

I loved the Give It Ups last night. 'Four-day Week' is such a great song! You were marvellous, David! You play the drums as if they are a glockenspiel.

I missed The School but Pocketbooks and The Sunny Street made me so happy too. A lovely, lovely night.

Hi, yes great to see everyone last night and thought all the bands were fantastic. Especially the drumming for the Give It Ups! :-) And I was officially the first person to buy the new School single!

Our new-old song was Close Your Eyes. Haha, yeah it's probably our most B&S moment...

If you missed out, Pocketbooks will be playing at the Islington Bar Academy on Sat 22 March. This may or may not be the unofficial launch party for our new EP. Either way, it will be a party! :-)

Ach, pocketbooks were marvellous yesterday. Ian's jangly guitar fits so well with the keyboards and Emma's and Andy's voice. Give It Ups were amazing too! David's drumming is so unique. I've heard that he's been already headhunted by pop lo-fi aficionados :-)

A lovely Wed evening!
I slice the surface here beside you/Lungs filled liquid yell I love you/Sound moves further underwater
Deep and dark my submarine bells groan in greens and grey/Mine would chime a thousand times/To make you feel okay..
