I think I've convinced the wife that I'm driving her to this Shrewsbury shindig. I want an out of town experience.

Is there anywhere to stay in Shrewsbury?

Good work! Theres a spanking new Premier inn just across the road from the venue http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Revi ... gland.html

Or a B&B pretty much next door http://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/lucroft ... ed124ebfX1

Or the venue do rooms too! http://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/the-vau ... c8eb7e1eX1

Thanks for that, it's much appreciated.

In the old days I'd have driven back to London but though I still have the stamina the wife demands duvet cover by 2 am.

No problem. 'The wife' eh? its always the 'the wife'! I used to hang around a train station for 5 hours to get the first train home post gig. Those days are loooooong gone.

We've booked a room at the venue. I'm off to polish my dancing shoes.

Great stuff! Please note the venue is the Vaults not the Albion Vaults. On our first night, Kve and Linda came down from Manchester and spent half an hour in the Albion Vaults watching DJ Derek spin Spice Girls records. Why it took them so long to differentiate me from an OAP Spice Girls fan remains unclear. I'm dead chuffed you can make it, I hope you have a cracking night.

I'm NEVER going to make it to JLH, am I?

Ok got that, thanks. I won't tell the wife about the Spice Girls dj as she might insist we go there instead.

Ray, if it makes any difference I can pretty much guarantee that the Shropshire Star won't be there.

The thing is, if I played the Spice Girls I'd have to the dance as well and NO-ONE wants that.

The fucking Shropshire Star!

And, now it turns out I sort of COULD make it tonight. I mean, apart from the fact I only have 20p to my name. Dangit!

Well, that was my favourite JLH ever. Big thanks for Mr. and Mrs.Cat for coming up. The Strawberry Switchblade story made me weak at the knees. We hope you had half as much fun as we did. We had blast! Thank you.xxx

JLH was great. Reminds me of my old clubbing days in Syndrome back in the early 90's. We both want to return.

Highlights were the French section which my wife appreciated as a fluent French speaker, Semsitive which I hadn't danced to since our wedding reception, Complete Control which I shouted along to possibly irreparably damaging my voice and Plan B which I hadn't heard for a year or so. I am now without any vocal power and have to use a form of sign language to communicate.

Fabulous fun and thanks to both yourself and your fellow dj.

Great stuff! Thank's again for coming. We had a brilliant night too. My highlight was Sweeny (the little old boy who likes to pogo) going for it to the Ramones. He's a bit like a Salopian Jon the Postman.

He's a bit like a Salopian Jon the Postman.

Bizarre coincidence but my wife suggested that he might be Jon the Postman!

She developed a bit of a soft spot for him. She's always had a thing for the older man which helped me get job of husband.

Next time we'll play Louie Louie and stand well back.

Yeah John (Co DJ, not postal worker) was really pleased that a Dexy's record that wasn't Come on Eileen went down so well in Shrewsbury.

This looks super ace. Sadly I'm miles away. But! I've got a mate in Telford so I come down your way every now and again. I'll time a visit to coincide with a forthcoming event and come and dance my socks off.
