I really like Cafe Oto - that's gonna be a great place to start all. Nice food places nearby for those wanting to eat to.
Oh yeah? You should PM me a little list of said places. Starting in January I'll be working in the same building block as Cafe Oto and I'm not too familiar with the area around there. :-)
I live round the corner! You should pop in for tea.

Hello! The Garlands and Withered Hand are playing popfest as well. We thought you might want to know!

All the latest information is on the website but just to warn anyone who'd like to come along to most or all of the gigs, there are only four season tickets left now: http://londonpopfest.com

question 1: is it correctly understood that each night is at a different venue?

question 2: would someone so kindly be willing to point out which subway stations are closer to what venue?

Correct.

I am sure the Popfest overloads will do a nice handy guide soon enough. They did last year, which listed tube stations, bus routes, places to eat and other places/things of interest nearby for those coming from out of town.

But here you go for locations:

Thursday - Cafe Oto - Train Station - Dalston Kingsland
Friday - Buffalo Bar - Tube Station - Highbury and Islington
Saturday - 100 Club - Tube Station - Tottenham Court Road/Oxford Circus
Sunday - Lexington - Tube/Rail - Kings Cross - Tube only - Angel
not really here

I've updated the venue information on the website now (sorry it took ages) and we'll have a pdf nearer the time for people to download with all that information that Trev mentioned earlier (cheers Trev). But yes, any question you need answered, please give us a shout.

We should be able to announce a couple more bands tomorrow.

Hello.

We've sold out of 4 day passes so you won't be able to come to Thursday or Friday shows.

We have day tickets for Saturday and Sunday day tickets will be available soon.

Wait until you see what we have for Sunday!

I don't suppose there's any danger of hearing Humousexual being announced at Popfest is there? I think they'd go down a TREAT.

And they're local.

Is there such a thing as one cheap centralish hotel where people will be staying? I don't fancy a hostel at my age, and despite my best intentions towards temperence, I can see the potential need for easy uniterrupted access to a loo...

What do you mean by cheap?

Some around Kings Cross are £35-40 a night or thereabouts.

Mates have used that one. Cheap. Basic. Clean. They said.

I'm (bartblueboy will be there too) going again to the Hotel California (a b&b) in Belgrove Street (just in front of St Pancras).

It's 50£ a night. The single room was a bit tiny and not very luxurious but clean, with heating and shower working well, and quiet during the night. The breakfast was good : toast, eggs, sausage, baked beans, etc.

I can heartily recommend The Hotel California - myself and Frankie from The Validators stayed there on many occasions when coming down to That London back in the heady days of the turn of the century. It's easy to find, the breakfast's good, and you get to sing HOTEL CALIFORNIA at people when they ask where you're staying. Also if they don't ask.
