I seem to have joined you both in my head but now it seems to have turned into a folk festival on a Scottish Island. Ooh! Did I miss a good ceilidh last night then tonieee? ;)

Will someone kindly transport me to the real life Scottish Islands, please?

It was City Centre Sessions in Sheffield - louds of bands in shops which was ace but because Ralph was having a sleepover at a friend's we had no reason to go home after so went straight to the pub and gave ourselves bad heads!

Someone's just tweeted this to the @ScotVoices account: "here's the view from the Shetland ferry at 11.30pm in June"

Årøya, in Finnmark. I'm getting increasingly drawn to islands north of the Arctic circle. And there's this island, Årøya. I don't know... *something*.

I only seem to drift by anorak occasionally these days but it always makes me happy that there's a thread of full of distant islands and dreaming. Don't ever stop <3

Been looking at Bardsey Island today and found this brilliant BBC story from ages ago:
A group of visitors to a remote island off the north Wales coast say they do not need rescuing.
Well, yeah.

Oooh, guess what, right, I'm having a holiday in Harlech in August! I dunno if I'll get round to Bardsey Island but just up the road there's an island I can walk to - Ynys Gifftan:
