Would it clash with the Sheffield and Nottingham ones a bit?

I was thinking more November time (have got End Of The Road and Swn before then, not to mention Nottingham) It may be I'll be distracted by another gig round about then anyway, but it's something I've been cogitating.

Leicester seems to be turning into a hot bed of indiepop loveliness. Who'd have thought!

Well, I'd like to think so. In truth I think there's only been a couple of indiepop gigs in the city this year aside from Alldayer, and Twesta have gone dark for various reasons. I'll probably only do Acoustic Alldayer if I can a) get somewhere smaller than Firebug (thus saving that for the bigger, fuller gigs) and b) get someone who justifies having an alldayer to headline, rather than just have some people round because they play acoustically.

Seeing as a few people asked yesterday, Leicesterval II will be confirmed when Firebug open their book for 2013 and I doubt I'll properly book/announce anyone until December, but I'd keep 23rd March free if I were you.

I'll probably go to this. I shall report back on the venue. In my head I imagine it to be a sort of One Thorseby Street type set-up.

Yeah, the studio/art space/gig space impression is encouraging..

I hear Silver Arcade is open again. I used to spend many a happy hour in there, mid- to late-90s. Any idea which shops have opened? Someone told me there's not many in there yet...

Don't think so... it used to be on the first floor, in the corner. I have a very vivid recollection of buying 'lover' by Perfume in there, for some reason.

Was it "Well Gosh" or something? I remember there being lots of shops selling suede jackets on the first floor, did they sell records too? I spent most of my time in there in the bookshop and the Slightly Odd cafe, also Final Frontier. Aaah, i can SMELL the dampness and suede jackets even now, it was like a bookshop in a car wash!

There were A LOT of suede jackets in Silver Arcade around that time. And a lot of those German army parkas.

It's doing my head in that I can't remember what it was called!

Hang on! Was it Backtrack, or something?
