annoyingly not. two of us have been able to take afternoons off work, but one wasn't so lucky. we're getting the train to meet him outside his work in warrington at about 5, then braving the friday motorway. EEEEK.

(time-saving route tips appreciated)

This veg shop sounds brilliant. Like in the old days when you'd go to rammed gigs in people's basements and empty units in industrial type places. I went to a gig in a squat once and they'd made a quarter pipe and the band were playing whilst skateboarders were doing skateboard tricks. That was ace.

Glad to see the Wave Pictures gig is at the Maze. Haven't been there in YEEAARSS.

Yeah, sort yourself out.
how do punx dance?
They skank (skanx?)

Edit: Maybe that's more just ska-punks. Some punks pogo. Some mosh. It looks like we may have to work out our routine before each gig depending on the precise sub-sub-genre of punk.

Speaking of embarrassing I'm going Mosh on Saturday. If anyone wants to come be The Oldest Person In The Club with me, you're more than welcome. You might even see some punks in action so you can get some dancing tips.

That's excellent. Did I ever tell you about when I accidentally walked into a 'wall of death' at a hardcore gig? Apparently they weren't all making a big gap for me to stand in and watch the band.

it's because you're linking to it starting half way through and the forum youtube tag can't handle it. it was very exciting anyway. their mums are going to be livid when they come home all bruised though.

think it murray off here who fractured his vertebrae at a vandals gig because he was trying to show the young people how to stage dive and they all missed him. or something like that. i was pissed when he told me.

We don't really have to start dancing like this do we? I don't approve.

i'm going to be gutted if there's not a wall of death tomorrow night

the most common form of dancing at punk shows is to stand facing the band with your brow furrowed and your arms folded. it usually takes place at the back of the room, or else the audience stand in horseshoe formation around the stage. classic

Who is going to see Haiku Salut on Friday? I think some of us drunkenly arranged this on Friday night. The gig looks good, actually, if you like that kind of stuff.

Sounds good to me. Me, Ian and Andy were gonna have a chat about next year's all-dayer, and there's no reason we can't do that at the Nav.

Oh, and it's a couple of shoegaze-y bands playing. The disco afterwards namechecked some decent bands, though.

Isn't that something to do with Aline's bloke?

Does anyone fancy some "90s emo, but drawn out and contemplative" at JT Soar tonight. I'm looking at you, JamieC. It's £3 byob.

EDIT: Oh wait, I just saw Jamie's tweet. Maybe I'll do the Kneel Before Zod thing instead.
