Londons, I haven't put this in the popshow thread, as it's not really a pop show. Basically, I'm one of the guest DJ's at the night below. It's a launch night of compilation album by illustrator Matt Sewell, which is on my co-JLH'er Johns label Caroline True (Lauren Laverne, rather pleasingly, has gone bananas about this record). Anyway, it would be dead lovely to see you if you're out and about. Give me a holler if you fancy it and I'll sort a guest list thing.

And we just can't wait to make more mistakes and to fluff our breaks, and to stuff our faces with cake.

Hey my Londons. I know we need pub more than anything but if anyone fancies some poetry, I was thinking of going to this next week. It looks gentle enough.
Tuesday 3 June. Poet in the City drop-in. Theme: Islands. Waterstone’s, 203-206 Piccadilly, London W1J 9HD. 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start. Hosted by the poet Gerry Skeens.
And pub after, of course.

If anyone fancies some AFTERNOON ROCK this Sunday, me, Gavin Osborn and Grace Petrie are bringing our tour to the Lexington. The music starts promptly at 2pm as we need to clear out upstairs by 4pm, then downstairs Pete Gofton (aka Him From Kenickie) is DJing at the Hangover Lounge. Also, it's free!

I have to say both Grace and Gav have been AMAZING on this tour so far, an honour to watch every night and will doubtless be GRATE. I, however, intend to spend the gig drunk!

There's no tickets left, are there? If there are I'd be tempted to come.

This stupid city. A person with a walking stick was reduced to tears trying to climb the stairs at Tottenham Court Road tube while everyone behind him was pushing and shoving and tutting for not letting them get to work 132 seconds earlier. This stupid city!

Anyone off to Night of the Triffids on Thursday to see Thee AHs etc.? That should make the world a better place.

Hello comrades. Is anyone going to see Haiku Salut on Saturday? If yes, pub? It'd be nice.

I stayed in and watched X-Factor. Sorry!

I am looking forward to Withered Hand tomorrow though. It'll be my first time seeing him.

Anyone fancy a pint in the vicinity of St Pancras on Thursday lunchtime? By which I mean midday... long shot, I know...

You know what, I might just be. I'll check the division of childcare responsibilities for the week and if they're favourable I'll see you there!

Hi all, I will likely find out if/when I am moving to London in the next couple of days. I'm looking for advice on reasonably priced areas that are nice and feel safe to walk around at night! (I'm married and have 3 cats, so flat sharing would not really be an option). If anyone knows of people looking to rent out that would be very helpful.

We're quite stressed about the move and paying rent and all that, so any help and calming words of wisdom would be much appreciated.
