Kind of. A friend from back home stayed in Liverpool after uni and I ended up getting to know his friends quite well. Used to go to gigs quite a lot - back in the days when I listened to more Jetplane and Biffy and Hundred Reasons and things.
And by me, I mean, Flexo.

if there are any Liverpool-based lurkers floating about anorak, ideally ones who play in indiepop bands, i'm still looking for another support for Tender Trap on july 10th. Suggestions/recommendations/volunteers all considered. Unavailable so far: Town Bike, Emily & The Faves, Lisa Locks, Married To The Sea, Pete Bentham & The Dinner Ladies... er, and more, worryingly.

Thanks folks.

Hi there everyone!

I'm new to this forum even though I've been reading it quite a lot lately as you reviewed one of the 7" we released featuring Comet Gain and Hello Cuca (yes, the latest released by Doble Vida Discos).

Well, I think anyway I might introduce myself. My name is Dani and even though living in Barcelona (for the last five years) I'm planning to move to Liverpool in about a month.

I'm quite involved with the Barcelona Underground Scene in Barcelona (i work as a photoographer and DJ for indie magazines and clubs) and as I was trying to see what was going on on the city I'm going to move I discovered that most of the acts you can reach are of bands quite big right now. I know on the 18th of September The Vaselines will play, and I'm dying to see them live, but also I was wondering (and that's why i trusted you guys in the Forum) if there are clubs, bars, bands I should check while I'm there.

I'm used to small bars, familiar acts, DIY events and that's what I need the most. I don't care about big acts. I always carry my camera with me and I would like to document the Underground Liverpool Scene (wich I believe has to be quite interesting).

I know these is asking too much for a first contact, but I can assure in exchange I can offer the perfect inside vision of Barcelona: the best parties, the clubs, the people that move the scene. Believe me I know this city as if it was my Hometown. If any of you need or want spanish bands to recommend or any help to organize concerts, wether is in Liverpool or Barcelona I'll gladly help you with the task.

Long live the Underground!

Hope anybody can help

Hi indiansummer,

Don't worry. I'm actually back in Barcelona (though I had a great time in L'pool) but don't worry I saw lots of bands from Lpool and took lots of pictures. I'll probably back soon to meet some friends and see some gigs.

Regards,

Dani

it's at the kazimier, isn't it? i wouldn't hold my breath for an early finish, to be honest

ummmm, let's see... stuff to do on a sunday... get something to eat in The Egg (wonderful veggie cafe), have a drink in Mello Mello (hippy-owned arts community bar/venue/hangout) or The Swan (real ale metal pub)...

pubs may be hellish today though, what with liverpool being in the final

Oh wow, thanks for that! I'll definitely have a look for The Egg for some pre-gig dins.
I have all day tomorrow to wander round the city so I'll perhaps put off the pub visits until then if there's going to be football crazies about tonight.
Awesome!

Melo Melo are tying to buy their building. I might chuck 'em a few quid.
I am struck speechless by the nape of your neck.

I liked Liverpool when I visited this week, though apparently not as much as Liverpuddlians like Nandos...

I think that's a nationwide phenomenon, sadly.

Anyway, we (Concrete and I) now reside in Liverpool! So, what's happening.......?
Just be nice to me.
