i WISH! i think i'm too settled now, but it pains me! i remember when i first moved to the uk all i wanted to do was live there and i totally never got to and that sucks real bad. i wish i could clone myself and send my clone to work in london while i go on a 6 month glasgow jaunt. and eat lots of pie!
tell me how good it is / to wake from a bad dream / and have someone there and I will tell you / how butterfly wings stay dry in the rain

Is anyone going to Little League tonight? Bear in mind it now starts at 7pm because they're having to finish an hour earlier.

Are we all cycling there? I'm praying it stays dry for the next half-hour.

The next Little League has been announced for Saturday 11th April, which clashes with Half My Heart Beats unfortunately, but it’s likely to finish at midnight (TBC) so people could still come along to our night if they can be bothered.

Tickets are available here.

I feel like the Little League Information Service. They're not even anything to do with me, but I just thought I'd post it for anyone who's not on the NPL mailing list.

ooh, andy and i will be in edinburgh that weekend so we might pop over to glasgow for the evening. i'll be there (edinburgh) for work the week before as well, if anyone fancies meeting up at some point, though this is the wrong thread to find people who are in edinburgh i suppose.

Anyone going to see Crystal Stilts tonight at Mono? I can't really be arsed, but I did want to go to their gig on Saturday and missed out so I feel like I should.

Only go if you can cope with a huge amount of hipster wankery. I think I did very well not to kill on Saturday night.

Among the audience, you mean? Hmm. That could be a problem.

Yup. The audience were bloody awful. That's the first gig I've managed to get along to at the Captain's Rest and if the too cool for skool brigade are at every gig there I might not bother again. Or maybe I'm just a grumpy bastard.

I actually like The Captain's Rest a lot since they did it up. It used to be a real shithole. I haven't noticed the crowds being particularly hipsterish, but maybe it's just the bands I've been going to see.

Yeah, I think maybe I was first time unlucky. I was having a fag outside before the gig and there was a group of girls hysterical that they had the 'hottest tickets in town' even though none of them knew the band. Twunts.

I liked the pub, though!

The Captain's Rest has been done up?!?! WHAT? Is it a proper venue now then? When I've played there it's been a dingy weird cellar beneath a pub full of old blokes, is this no longer the case?

We're going to try and come and play Glasgow at the end of May, I was thinking "We can't really play The Captain's Rest with the full band" but maybe i am incorrect now?

It was bought over by the promoters PCL, I think, and the basement has been completely re-done. Upstairs is still much the same (although I think the old blokes have mostly fled), but downstairs is a lot nicer with a proper stage and everything. I was there the time you played with The Just Joans and Pete Green. That was an ace night.

Hi there!
Sorry for the spamming but I would like to announce the Cloudberry Special at Captain's Rest in Glasgow!
It took us some time to organize it but finally it will take place on Thursday 2 April.
There will be three Scottish-based Cloudberry bands: The Felt Tips, The Occasional Flickers and The Catalysts.
The first 50 people through the door will receive a limited edition Cloudberry 3" CD compilation!!

I stumbled across this event on last.fm and it sounds really good. I'll be there, hopefully early enough to get a Cloudberry CD.
