5-0 to Swindon this afternoon too. Maybe they'll do OK in League One after all.

Disappointing 1-1 draw for Charlton. Still 2 points clear of 3rd place though. I reckon it's going to be one of those strange seasons where for the first half it seems like we're not doing great, but remain in the top two, then for the second half it feels like we pick it up yet end up in the play offs.
Zheng Zhi's great, by the way.

Some Town fans on Saturday in a pleasing display of making noise and supporting and getting behind the team and that!

Yeah, we lost.

Don't you hate that?

Alfonso Alves thought he was too good for SC Heerenveen, after being top-scorer of the Dutch league last year. So he refused to train, stayed in Brazil a few weeks while the season had already started... hoping he could force a transfer.

...and now he comes back, plays his first match and scores 7 times in that one game.

Seven!! I've never seen that before, and I would love it in any other case. Seven goals! In one game! Amazing.

Bastard.

Did you get on Saturday, Pete?

Y'know if we were bottom of the league now I still wouldn't be worried.

Neh. I think you're right though - it sounds like we were dead unlucky. One freaky goal from a free kick, scored by accident, and one penalty awarded for a foul outside the box. Peterborough seem to be justifying their hype as pre-season title favourites, so the fact that we can go to theirs and outplay them and only lose unluckily seems to bode well.

Is it wrong to really fucking hate Darren Ferguson? There's something about how he's clearly sleeping with that wanky chairman that rubs me up the wrong way.

hoohah! a home win against watford!

that give us the rather ignoble stat of being the last team in the country to secure a win in the league this season

4th for bottom is my dream

come on, you superhoops!

I thought you'd had an especially marvellous result there Linus, and then I looked at the BBC site for a report and discovered you'd played Norwich! Still, a win is a win. :)

Par for the course, I would have thought.

Oh, that's some random Irish property bloke who reckons he'll have Peterborough in the premiership in three weeks or some rubbish isn't it? He's a right tosser, he is.

Bohemians are in the league cup final tonight (god knows how). It's in Derry, otherwise I might have gone.

Yeah, he's a 28 year old property developer. And I'm sure you'll agree that's the worst kind of property developer.

I'm off down the road to Rotherham tonight to see Town in that paint thing. There'll be no bugger there at all.

Oooh, let me know how Ian Sharps gets on! He used to be at Tranmere, a local lad who actually supported Rovers. Lord knows why we released him!!!

I'm Huw by the way. I support Tranmere, but at the moment I'm too skint to go to games. And we're top of the bloomin League. Yowzers!!

We're three games away from Wembley after hammering Rotherham on penalties last night.

That's a bit weird.

Eh up Huw!

Sharps looked decent. Big lad, in't he? Really good in the air, headed all our corners away. Bit less sound on the ground though; he was getting well outpaced by Andy Taylor in the second half.

We were shocking for the first half of the game. It was wet and sparsely attended and the kiosk didn't have the cheese and onion pies promised on the sign. But then I knew that already. The train broke down at Meadowhall on the way there and the train back was half an hour late.

It was a brilliant, brilliant night.

Yay!
Sharpsy is also a lovely geezer and found out he'd been released on the radio. Football is shit sometimes.

Glad your Wembley dreams are still alive Humby!

I'm not sure, but I think Tranmere have the worst record in England in penalty shoot outs, having lost the last 8 or something.

Ooh, we've signed a player!

He is a 19-year-old right-back with Man City and we've got him on loan. His rather ace name is Shaleum Logan (cue a lot of "Logan's run" comments if he gets forward well).

A striker's maybe gonna sign on Monday too!

Gah, just remembered our game's moved to tomorrow night. Stupid Friday night football, etc etc.

I just saw that. Any ideas on the striker, Pete?
