The Football
Re: The Football
Of course as soon as I announce that this is the season and the Gills are definitely going up we'll instantly crash and burn.
So I won't.
So I won't.
My apple pies go off today.

For fellas who spend their formative years in professional football, where they become used to great money for very little graft, perhaps it is unsurprising that narcotics seems to be an increasingly popular line of work – they can continue to be the envy of all their mates, right up until the moment they get caught.

Hope you have a nice time. We're going to be in Hull on boxing day and I'm thinking that home game against Leicester might be worth a visit.tompony wrote:I'm off to see my first match of the season tomorrow. Saints are due a win, right?

One defensive calamity and more poor penalty decisions put paid to that!tompony wrote:I'm off to see my first match of the season tomorrow. Saints are due a win, right?

Re: The Football
Indeed! It definitely looked like we were going to win, Swansea were dreadful. But we were nice enough to give them the easiest goal ever.
Still, I had a good day out.

Where were you sitting? We sit in the Chapel Family Stand as Geraldine's 10 year old son gets a free season ticket there.tompony wrote:Indeed! It definitely looked like we were going to win, Swansea were dreadful. But we were nice enough to give them the easiest goal ever.

Re: The Football
I was high up in the Kingsland - my season-ticket-holding friends usually try to get us near their area in the Northam but couldn't this time around.
There's definitely a few make-or-break games coming up now. The next one I can potentially make is Sunderland, just before Christmas... with games against QPR, Norwich and Reading before then, I'm hoping things will look a little bit less bleak!

Re: The Football
Yep! Brilliant stuff. I managed to watch a good chunk of the match via nefarious Internet streaming and some of the passing was magical, although QPR helped out by being fairly hopeless. Not convinced by any of our keepers though. Hopefully Gazzaniga will gain some confidence if he gets a decent run in the team, though...

Re: The Football
Imagine being sacked because of dropping Torres. Presumably Abramovich still believes he's just a couple of games away from becoming a 30 goals a season striker again.

Re: The Football
is it for dropping torres, do you reckon? or the losing streak?
not really a baffling one - i reckon everyone expected it
still, imagine winning the champions league and getting binned off six months later
football is fucked

Re: The Football
Saints were superb today. Only losing 2-0 flattered Newcastle; Ramirez was class and for once the defence looked solid!

yep. we (Newcastle) are all out of sorts and it was only really the woodwork that kept the score respectable.richpassivity wrote:Saints were superb today. Only losing 2-0 flattered Newcastle; Ramirez was class and for once the defence looked solid!

I know it was the right time to play you with injuries etc but you didn't look like a coherent team.fads wrote:yep. we (Newcastle) are all out of sorts and it was only really the woodwork that kept the score respectable.richpassivity wrote:Saints were superb today. Nice to see Pardew get a good reception here and him respond to the home crowd's "Pardew, give us a wave!" chant positively!
