As the natural conclusion to something, Pat Nevin did a show on 6 Music this morning. Graeme Le Saux rings in, the POBPAH reference is acknowledged and everyone you'd expect from Nevin (bar the Fall) gets played.

Probable new Everton signing Nikica Jelavic wears a dufflecoat.

Fine work.

I was delighted, during one of Georges Santos' several suspensions, when he turned up in the stands one day and sat among the Grimsby fans while sporting a particularly fine duffel. He was much too big and strong a lad to be indiepop, but the coat suited him very well.

I saw Leighton Baines at the Euros Childs gig in Liverpool last night. He left before Euros came onstage though (after Bill Ryder Jones had played). So y'know, this anecdote (if you can call it that) probably doesn't belong in this thread after all.

Why yes, Anorak, since you ask, that *was* 'Big' by New Fast Automatic Daffodils playing in the background during the section on the Australia team, just before their game against the USA in the women's World Cup, on the BBC last night.

After their recent game at Cheltenham, the Braintree Town players shook the hands of all 30 of their fans who made the trip there to support them:

This is the sort of thing I've often done when playing an indiepop gig, but I've never heard of it at the football before. Bravo!
