I had some bizarre brown cheese on Sunday. It was a type of Norwegian goats cheese, and very unusual and tasty it was too. It was quite sweet. A Norwegian 2cv driver was over for the weekend and brought all kinds of Norwegian produce for us to try out at our 2cv group meeting at my local pub. It was all ace!

I had some absolutely scrumptious Australian blue yesterday. I love Stilton, but sometime it can be overpowering. I feel like I need a lie down after Stilton. This blue was mild enough to keep me going and went superbly with the tipple at hand: a slightly spicy Malbec. ¡Que placer!

I've been having such massive cheese cravings recently. It's mostly for blue cheese, on everything, but especially just cheese and crusty bread.

St Agur and Gorgonzola. Wendsleydale with Cranberries in it. Fresh Mozzarella salad. God I could go on for minutes.

Have had no cheese for about a week! I am trying to be mostly vegan (note all the qualifiers haha I am rubbish) but I might starting missing cheese quite a lot soon...
It's like goldy and bronzy, only it's made out of iron.

There are numerous reasons why I wouldn't have the willpower or desire to be a vegan but cheese is the greatest. I'd miss it more than meat.

I've got a lovely slab of blackstick's blue in the fridge at the moment - it's so creamy but with quite a kick to it too. I've also got a mature, quite hard goats cheese in there. I normally go for the softer (yet still tangy) goat cheeses but this one is amazing.

(I'm sorry, Archel. That probably doesn't help you).

You just reminded me I had a craving for a baked spud with goats cheese and beans on. Hopefully I can pick up the ingredients on my way home.

Interesting - I quite regularly have a baked potato with cheese and beans as a bit of a winter warmer but almost exclusively use quite a strong cheddar. Maybe I should branch out.

Do it. You'll never look back. Oh and for penultimate satisfaction goats cheese, sunblushed tomatoes and black olives on a toasted panini or ciabata.

Vegan cheese exists but it takes on the consistency of grilled cheese no matter what you do to it.

Actually, I'd say some of it has the consistency of rubber... There are however soft vegan cheezes available, should you be that way inclined. Also, there's vegan parmazan available.

I think if you're vegan you should be denied cheese. You've made your non-dairy bed, don't cheat by trying to have cheese anyway. See also: tofurkey.

Obviously I don't really mean that, I'm just protesting about the lack of action on the cheese thread.

I've got some amazing cheese in my fridge - it's called Pié d'Angloys. I don't know if that's a proper type of cheese or if it's just a Président brand, but it's so tasty! It's reminiscent of camembert, but with a certain other flavour in there somewhere too. A certain I don't know what. It's so nice though.

Actually as a strict vegetarian, I make exceptions for good cheese. What kind of a terrible person am I (also it's surprising how much good cheese does turn out to be randomly vegetarian).

so i went. it wasn't quite heaven (too much French cheese, not enough English), but it was very good. i haven't tried my ishigaki jima goat cheese yet, but i'm quite excited about it.

You should let them know, drop the names of lots of English cheeses and before you know it they'll take you on as a cheese consultant :)

hahaha i like that title. I did mention it to the guy i thought was the owner, but it turns out he wasn't. hopefully he'll pass the word along.

the ishigaki jima goat cheese is ok. the texture is not quite right, but it is tasty.

i think i might have tried this, too. whatever i tried was seriously yummy.

i brought back loads of cheese from England: stilton, cheddar, and Wensleydale. The lady in the shop thought i was a freak then i explained i lived someplace that didn't have good cheese, and then she knew i was a freak. I have to hurry up and have a cheese party before i gobble it all up myself!
