Hi, just stopped by while looking for info on Band À Part and thought to plug my little radio project. Playing some anorak/twee, although mostly Japanese/Shibuya/Technopop.

Enjoy?

Been meaning to plug this for a while - I do a show on my local community station (though as it's 100% online the idea of a community station is arguably a little meaningless), North Palace Radio - based in north London, near Alexandra Palace y'see...

If you have time and inclination please do check it out - here's the latest show on Mixcloud http://www.mixcloud.com/northpalaceradi ... episode-4/. It's 'broadcast' at 9pm on alternate Wednesdays and on Mixcloud as soon after that as I can manage. That one has some Withered Hand, Moldy Peaches, Half Man Half Biscuit, Slow Club, Murry the Hump, all sorts of (I think) good stuff.

Pretty sure I have said the word 'Indietracks' in every edition so far.

Next one on October 26th. Just recorded the links, definitely mentions Indietracks. It also has a couple of exclusive preview tracks from Hibbett's Dinosaur Planet!

What have you made of the Graham Linehan co-penned port of the venerable Count to TV? Not sure it's quite worked for me.

Sorry for taking so long to reply.

I think overall it has been pretty good. That said, it has been a bit hit and miss but hopefully it'll be given a chance to develop because there has been some very funny moments in each episode. For me the good thing about having Graham Linehan as co-writer is that I wasn't too surprised by the amount of changes from the radio show.

I'd be interested to hear what you felt didn't work for you in particular.

I've recently been introduced to the joys of "Fags, Mags & Bags" on Radio 4 Extra (just in time for the last ever episode) it's fantastic, the kind of comedy which is laugh out loud funny on the first listen but then laugh out louder and longer on repeat listens. Five Alive!

And the Richest Man in Britain, the 2 episodes I've heard of that are great, especially the Noddy Holder one.

and TMS obviously, that's on the wireless and is the best thing ever.

8am every saturday on Radio 2 it's Brian Matthew time or Sounds Of The 60's which is a fabulous place to start if you like an unpredictable dip into 60's music. It can be quite lame, a raucous Bits And Pieces (or Shits And Faeces as I call it) by the Dave Clark 5 maybe too obvious for some but then next week it'll be a Dave Clark 5 b side which is actually quite good. An lp track from the United States Of America might be followed by a Cilla Black track. I find saturday mornings my tolerance levels are high.

Only last weekend he played a track by Alan Melville called Jets which came from his only lp Melvillainy which is sort of Clive James meets Kenneth Williams. Cool cover as well, managed to pick it up in MVE yesterday. Mr. Matthew also introduced me to Jake Thackray whom Milky Wimpshake cover on their last lp.

I dread the day Mr. Matthew dies, he's probably about 82, it'll be a John Peel sort of moment.

When I'm driving in the car it's usually Radio 5 Live because most music stations are unlistenable. I'd rather listen to some inane chatter from some stuttering caller than have to endure 20 minutes of crap music before a Coldplay track gets played and I feel falsely relieved because something that isn't entirely reprehensible is violating my ears.
