I am kinda in the beginning of season six now, which I had TOTALLY missed.

OMG!

I had no idea that Rory and Lorelei would change in the end of season five and beginning of season six, or the judge's ruling. Very exciting stuff.

It is filling in so many info gaps at the moment.

Also: Logan Huntzberger, he really is the biggest douchebag in the world. I can see no redeeming qualities. He calls her Ace! He is kinda ugly and smug, and seems to have some sort of Napoleon complex going on there.

Ew ew ew.

I hated Logan for the longest time, but I actually started to warm to him towards the end.

I think its tragic that no one else realizes that the only suitable boyfriend Rory ever had was Jess. He was the only one who really understood her!

I can't be alone in this.

A few weeks ago, I would totally have agreed with you on that, but the gossip that Milo Ventimiglia was abusive towards Alexis Bledel made me dislike Jess by association.

It's no mystery that this is my favorite show of all time. I have such a hard time talking about it now that it's gone. I hope that rumor of a GG movie is not bunk.

Yup, I did think Jess was the best boyfriend for her. I mean, Dean was CUTE and all but he seemed to have issues with her college life and all. Rory and Jess seemed to have something else than puppy love.

I think Marty could have been really, really good for her. AND he was hott.

eep! i barely watched this show while it was running, but now i'm almost all caught up (on season 6 now)... i heard not so good things about seasons 6 and 7 though, so i hope it doesn't change too much for the worse. though now it's kinda sad watching all the episodes and *knowing* when it'll end
things i've loved i'm allowed to keep

Just read in EW that the pilot for The Return of Jezebel James is airing in March! Amy Sherman-Palladino wrote/directed + two of my favorite actresses: Lauren Ambrose fr. Six Feet Under and Parker Posey! This is all too good to be true and will surely tank.

A synopsis:
"Can two estranged sisters, polar opposites, live together when one agrees to carry the other's baby? SARAH THOMKINS is a bright, optimistic, determined woman who seems to have it all a great job as a children's book editor, an eager-to-please assistant, BUDDY, who helps keep her life together, and a no-strings-attached personal relationship with successful businessman MARCUS SONTI. Nevertheless, as her father, RONALD, is constantly pointing out, something is missing from Sarah's life. Her hard work may garner accolades, but when she goes home at night, she is very much alone. All too aware that she isn't getting any younger, Sarah decides to have a baby on her own and gets the shock of her life when the doctor tells her she can't get pregnant. Having no concept of the term "can't," Sarah wills herself to execute a plan. With nowhere else to turn, Sarah sets up a meeting with her quirky younger sister, COCO, and proposes a plan for Coco to carry her baby. They haven't seen each other in a while, and Coco refuses to go along with such a huge favor. But something happens when Sarah mentions that she's turned Coco's imaginary childhood friend, Jezebel James, into a children's book. Even though she doesn't say so out loud, Coco is clearly touched, and, realizing that her current living situation sharing a couch with her friend's sick dog isn't working out, Coco decides that this just might be worth a try."
Maybe we need a ASP thread for Roseanne, GG, and now "RoJJ" fans. Good lawd, I miss Gilmore Girls so much.

I'd really like for it to be good, but these clips are looking pretty bad to me.

I'm too scared to look. I wish I could say I was kidding, but I really am that sad.

Oh! I was just going to come and find this thread.

I just got to watch the last episode ever for the FIRST TIME WITH THE SOUND RIGHT! I've only gotten to see it with the sound three minutes before the picture, which was super annoying.

As usual I cried!

Astrid, am I losing my mind or did you say you were thinking of writing your thesis about GG?

I wish it had been around when I was writing mine, because it would make a cracking sociology expose about the modern American family highlighting how the characters that ended up with the most fulfilling lives were the ones who eschewed their very "traditional" parents' preferred path (e.g., Lorelei and Lane vs. Logan and Paris ). But you're doing film studies, aren't you? You could certainly tie in something about the portrayal of American families on TV shows from post-war to present. I could give you lots of avenues to pursue w/all my wasted time spent TV-watching growing up!

I thought I saw that too! Maybe we're having a joint brain spasm or something. I think it sounds like an awesome idea, and there is so much stuff of interest that you could pick out of shows like GG. Someone should do it!

No offense GG fans, but that gloombutton and I tried to have those superfast (maybe annoyingly so?) conversations like those ones on that show, and it's nearly impossible to do it and still sound human.

That would be a good thesis topic maybe.

It's all about craft services. I reckon I could perform super-human feats with a delicious buffet at my disposal at all times.
