The others: great TV shows not worthy of their own thread

Post by alongwalkhome » Fri Oct 12, 2007 18:40

Right, there's a bunch of shows I like (past, present...and...erm...I suppose future) that aren't gonna get enough traffic to merit their own thread.

I am currently completely enjoying Ugly Betty. I especially love the dynamic btwn. Betty and her family and Betty and her boss. And who doesn't love to hate Mark and Amanda? I fucking LOVE Mark's clothes. And I am strangely attracted to Henry--I'm sure it's a sign of illness.

New fall 2008 programs? Well, I've dropped most of them aside from Pushing Daisies. That actually got better w/the second episode. It's rather uniquely written and filmed (for TV), isn't it? It's giving me a little of my dead-people-black-comedy fix I miss from Six Feet Under. It's more campy of course. I've never noticed it before, but Anna Friel reminds me a lot of Zooey Deschanel.

I just watche the entire 10th Kingdom series in one sitting and yes a tear was shed. Only one mind.

Watched the last episode of the Vicar of Dibley last night. Loved the Matrix style ending. I seem to have missed a few years worth of episodes however. I detect a boxset splurge coming up.

Just watched "Primeval" on the ITV for the first time. I like the way the the ladies curve move like jello on springs. Oh, and the dinosaurs.

I'm watching this week's Ugly Betty and it's so back in form. I've been giggling like a mental patient. The whole Gene Simmons thing is killing me. I don't even know how they go through this scene. Joey, have you been watching??

I follow everything from The Hills and Gossip Girl (OMG how exciting was the season finale? Also: I HEART Jenny, she's so gorgeous, and it's nice that she plays a 14-year-old and actually IS 14 for once) to the eternal plowing of The Sopranos. We started just before Christmas and are now on season 5!

I quite like The Class for classic mainstream comedy.

We're watching Reaper, a Kevin Smith slacker comedy meets Ghost Busters type thing too...

And soon Skins will start again! And we watched Nearly Famous which was ok, a bit overacted and emotional but that's teen tv for ya.

I watch A LOT of tv.

This show is possibly not even worth a post of its own, but A&E now have a reality show about the Philadelphia Parking Authority. I watched it last night, and I'm afraid I'm sort of hooked.

I'm mildly horrified that I love Supernanny.

And that I have a big ol' girlcrush on Jo Frost.

Wasn't it great? It's like a tv version of the comic series Fables.

When did you cry? Near the end when Virginia finds out it's her mother and she starts yelling and crying? That's when I got watery.

Whoops I ingored your question from twomonths ago. Apologies. It could have been that or it could have beenwhen she abandons Wolf to the sheperdesses village, or it could be a tear of laughter when she adds her own slant when covering We will Rock You.

Or it could have been the OBVIOUS stunt double that jumps off the end of the mine shaft slide.

Did anyone watch Snog, Marry, Avoid last night?
I might be alone here but I think it's pretty much the best thing on TV.

Is that a censored, Britishized version of Fuck Marry Kill?

Haha!
What?
That sounds amazing.
It's advertised as a 'make-under' program, but it's so much more.
You can actually watch it online here for the next 3 days:

Brilliant!

Ha ha!
I'm watching it again now.
"Levi, 90% of men said they would buy you a kebab"
"I don't like kebabs. I like lobster. And jewelry. I like wearing jewelry whilst I eat my lobster."

Sometimes I think I'm going mad.
How is this even on the telly?
Gok Wan ain't got nothin' on POD.

Oh, right! Not F Marry Kill at all then. That's kind of a junior high game you play where you ask someone, "Out of these three people, who would you fuck, who would you marry, etc."
