Re: Glasgow

gav, i think there's a special coach service from prestwick that operates outwith public transport hours?
there's a wee bit about it on the prestwick airport site, from memory, and i think the bus is timed to leave after the last flight gets in at about midnight.

Re: Glasgow

my hand is up for the cocktails/dinner bit! i probably can't go to the pub after as lee gets back that night and i'd like to be home for that, but evening stuff should be fine as i'm working until about 5pm, i think.

Re: Baking (cakes and stuff)

on a possibly gross (but secretly really great if a little bit of a guilty pleasure) tip, i was reading about some cupcakes the other day from that buttercup place in NYC., and one of the varieties was PEANUT BUTTER & JELLY. seriously. and they look amazing, if you like that kind of thing.

Re: Baking (cakes and stuff)

do you have a food processor, marianthi? i find nigella's basic fairycake recipe to be totally foolproof, and because you just blitz everything you can do it really quickly. you can leave them vanilla or add flavoured essences and things if you feel fancy.

Re: The Football

hi, the football.

is it weird to bring cake to the pub when you are going to watch the football? i have a nice cake that needs to be shared, and i'm going out later to watch the football, but i don't want my the football-watching companions to think i'm odd for bringing cake.

Re: what book are you reading?

I've almost finished the Janet Frame autobiography and it may just be one of the best things I've ever read. The fact that I'm from New Zealand and love her novels probably has an influence, but then she never really talks about her books and writes about a NZ I don't identify with. The first part ...
