Re: clothes

that dress is gorgeous - i remember seeing it in the window of next and coveting it!
you should definitely wear it, but i would maybe go for wedges (or even some heels?) as then your feet will be more likely to stay dry if it does rain.

Re: Corry-Orry! or Coronation Street if you prefer

What happened last night? I missed it cos I was doing a gig in Manchester. And Sinbad's girl with the great hair was there! The one who's training to be a copper. In hindsight, I guess I should have asked her what happened last night, really. Gah. no way! on the underground yesterday i was sitting ...

Re: Baking (cakes and stuff)

Would you reccommend the Cranks cookbooks then? I love veggie wholefood too, but i've found the Food for Tought books to be a bit hit and miss with their recipies, and I'd really like some more recipes to try/ be inspired by. i would recommend the cranks books, for sure. i have the cranks fast food...

Re: The Besties

I was half way through a conversation w/the drummer from the Besties (Frank--what an incredibly cool guy!) in NYC because I recognized him from the Smittens show in Boston the night before. I was suitably "what a small world" impressed that he is from the dinky little town (Methuen, MA) I was born ...

recommended by me, too! although i'm working until late at this thing , so i might not make it along: Twisted Nerve boss Andy Votel's exploding psychedelic spectacular rolls into town, with Dublin's Twinkranes providing the live backdrop - think Silver Apples meet Neu. With guest DJ Andrew Divine. b...

It was on Warp I think? I'm going to track down more stuff though. Woop, Pivot! I get a bit excited when Australian music that is actually good gets some props everywhere else. Especially because Dave Miller from Pivot is a really good guy who's always done a lot for experimental/electronic music i...

Re: Baking (cakes and stuff)

haha, sweetened grease. YUM. i stopped making buttercreams for ages, too, because i was always having to transport my cupcakes and buttercreams can be too messy. you've basically got two options with buttercream. you can go the professional, rose levy berenbaum way and make a sort of meringue/cooked...

haha, this thread reminds me of the mark twain quote about a classic being that which everyone wants to have read, but that no one wants to read.

Re: What's on your lists of things to do and learn?

i understood about as far as astrid saying she needs to make lists because her head is muddy or something? then i had to stop reading. i love making lists like this, although i rarely finish them. i made a list in about february and one of the main things on it was getting a bike, which i've done! b...

Re: It's bloody dangerous by bicycle

ugh, i've been so lazy with not riding for the last few weeks, due to being on holiday and sick and then recovering and stuff (which meant being unable to get out bed 5 minutes early so i could ride). but i'm so up for a ride now! i'm definitely going to get back into it as of tomorrow. i feel bad f...

Re: MP3s and owning physical record collections

i've been thinking about this recently as i just had a pile of my old belongings shipped over to me by my mum. i thought there would be a lot more records, but it turns out my sister went home on holiday and looked through my stuff, taking back anything that was actually hers. which was quite a lot,...

if i were ever going to learn to drive, which is probably pretty unlikely at this point*, i would like a nissan figaro. i know they're not properly old, but they look swellegant! and, considering my uselessness at things, i like the idea that if it breaks it's just a nissan micra with fancy clothes ...
