Re: clothes

argh, i need a light rain jacket/windbreaker thing with a hood! i have a nice hooded wintery jacket, and a nice waterproofy mac without a hood that's fine if i carry a brolly, but considering it rains in glasgow something like 200 days a year, i think i need something hooded for cycling to work when...

Re: Anoracats!

i can't believe how hard it is to leave larry for the weekend! he just got in the suitcase, between my dresses and my toiletries bag, and i wish i could have left him there and taken him to london. cats love london. anyway, i'm about to get him all ready to take back to the foster lady we got him fr...

Re: clothes

i've decided to go for the dress i have, plus some cute gold and cream patent flats i spotted yesterday (no heels, since the wedding is in their garden), a thin gold hairband, and a nice shrug or something in gold or cream (i still need to locate one of these, for cheap). i was going to go bare-leg...

Re: Nick Cave

most of my best anecdotes date back to the turn of the century, i agree.

edit: i feel like an old-timer - 'c'mere sonny, did i ever tell you about the time will oldham kissed my cheek? thems were the days!'

Re: Nick Cave

not too far off - martyn was wearing shades and all black and may even have been smoking a cigarette, but the kids were just regular kids at the beach, with buckets and board shorts and stuff. he just kinda sat there and watched them frolicking, a very cute scene.

Re: Nick Cave

bad seeds anecdote #347: i used to serve marty casey (also ex-triffids) in my shop all the time! mostly he would come in and sell us bad seeds cds, ha. i also saw him and his kids at the beach a couple of times - it was exactly as you would imagine. those guys are all well cool (including, of course...

Re: Bear Quartet

i have to admit that i really haven't given bear quartet enough of a chance. i do like any of their stuff that i've heard, though! in terms of things that are related to them, i love the heikki album 'heikki 2', which is jari and maria from the concretes/santa maria (the santa maria album is totally...

Re: Anoracats!

nice pictures, gordon! crystalball, i understand yr concern. i've never had a housecat before - in australia i always lived in places that had nice, big gardens and lots of mice to catch, which seems like the perfect life for a cat! however, larry's apparently been a housecat his whole life. we live...

Re: Anoracats!

um, i think i just adopted a cat! we called the rescue place because they had some kittens i liked the look of, but the lady on the phone persuaded me to meet this ginger boy cat who's about a year old and needed a home. so she brought him over and he started purring like crazy and i think i love hi...

Re: Pithy observations about TV

Another aside: I really, really fancied Judge Reinhold as a kid (a crush that developed during Fast Times at Ridgemont High . He has NOT held up at all well. Yikes. i pretty much still fancy prime-era judge reinhold. how cute was he in his all-american burger uniform? but yeah, he looks awful now. ...

Re: makeup and cosmetics

my favourite red-red is the MAC matte in 'lady danger', which is a nice, bright, slightly coral red with an insane amount of pigment. i also have 'MAC red', but it's a cooler/blueish, more 40s tone (if that makes any sense?) and a bit less wearable somehow. they're both a little much for daytime off...

Re: Pretty stuff for the house

It's the kind of place where you can find a gift for anyone , which is why it is really great for last-minute kind of things. Although it can be a bit pricey. I miss an equivalent in England. aw, i love it, too. last time lee was in stockholm, he brought me back some really sweet gifts from there, ...
