Re: Big Pink Cake Weekender - Bristol. October 23rd & 24th

I could have sworn I posted in this thread saying how great it was last year and could we have Days back, but the thread is devoid of my reply. I was drunk when I thought I'd posted and I'm drunk now. If I don't read this tomorrow I am going to be making big lifestyle changes.

Re: Is running a record shop even remotely viable these days

I don't know how true it is but I heard Oxfam are deliberately setting up new book and record shops near established independent ones to increase their market share - I suppose they can justify any type of sharp business practice so long as it's for charity.. The trend in the last few years has defi...

Re: ATP Presents BOWLIE 2 Festival Curated by Belle & Sebast

I'm going to have to try to forget this is happening or I am in severe danger of wishing the next 8 months away.

Anyone speculating on likely bands? What odds on the Pastels and Camera Obscura? I wouldn't bet against them..Donovan might be worth a long shot... Trevor Horn fronted Yes longer still?

Re: ATP Presents BOWLIE 2 Festival Curated by Belle & Sebast

I suppose in a year where wages have stayed still at best (for those lucky enough to keep jobs) and inflation is low there's an argument that the price should be the same as last year - as it is £10 isn't a huge increase. The £20 discount for early tickets and deposit plan offset this too. Personall...

Far too much to say in one post, so I'll just say I only missed one band as I had to eat, and every band I was glad to have seen at the least.
A really big thank you to the organisers!

I was so weaK and tired on monday after work I didn't have strength even to open a tinned fray bentos pie.

Good going getting your room booked so early.

I'm already getting excited too.
I had a peek at the prices - looks like there were no cheap rooms left - all £50 -£60 a night over indietracks time. Still not much more than the campsite if sharing i suppose.

Don't beat around the bush, Jennifer. Are this Wake lot any good? JUST A LITTLE BIT!!! Get on to l ast.fm where there are many songs to taste. Then get the hell on over to LTM and order 'Here Comes Everybody + singles' to start with. That is, if you dig what you hear. You must! Here comes everybody...

I still remeber braggs, who had the exact same stock and shopfronts as gregss but mysteriously all became greggs's around 1995. I also rember having a right go at someone I was working with for knocking greggs a few years ago. I'm normally as honest as the day is long, but so white hot was my rage a...

Hands down, Colin Blunstone of The Zombies. Whomever said that is the smartest person on anorak. OK, I'm maybe biased... I saw him and Rod Argent play in a pub in Swindon recently. Absolutely amazing (both his voice and the fact they were playing the back room of a pub in Swindon. I'll continue in ...

I missed the 3rd episode on Sunday, enjoyed the first two. This is my first tv show I am making an effort to watch after 4 years without a telly. Two of my favourite songs were in the first episode - don't stop believing and leaving on a jet plane - bodes well. It gets the balance of heart warming s...

I have been very, very geeky and started playing Lord of the Rings online. it's the first proper online game I've tried and thankfully, although it's great, it is not so addictive that I am contemplating giving up on work and a social life to cram more hours in. Yet.

Re: It's terrific by train

My last train experience was very pleasant. It wasn't crowded and I had a seat to myself, there was a (slightly foxed) copy of the Guardian there and it ran to time. Best of all, when I got to my destination (where the train terminated) the train manager gave a very nice little speech about enjoying...
