Re: Indie Pop?

There is no one absolute rule as to what Indiepop is. Everyone will have their own idea and they all tend to get rather heated and sulky when someone else says "That's not indiepop" / "yes it is" / "No it's not" / Yes It Is!!" etc etc until one of them dies....I tend to follow this rule which helps ...

I think people are just making these things up.
'holdyhandiescore' will be next....

Re: Your Indietracks 2012 Wishlist (and actual announcements

I'd (Our Arthur) like to play and I'd even throw in a couple old Groove Farm songs if people fancied hearing them and it would be nice to see : Phil Wilson/June Brides whatever he's calling it The Sunny Street (who were fab down in Bristol a few months back) Davey Woodward Vivian Girls The Rosie Tay...

Re: The Sunny Street

I'd totally like to get a copy of this album, but i don't want to wait a year for it to arrive after parting with money. Is anyone in the UK selling it?

Our Arthur

Hello. I am Our Arthur, I've just about worked out how to do Soundcloud! And i have put up a song called 'Torn Anorak', which it won't take a genius to work out (if you listen to it) is about getting the shit kicked out of you at school in the 1970's. It will be on the first Our Arthur LP called 'Di...

I expect it was that Beatles photo shoot that turned Paulie vegetarian. And good on him for it.

Re: White Town / Jyoti Mishra

No I'm serious. I think in the future when you get those annoying TV shows where people talk about the greatest pop videos ever made and everyone always goes on and bloody on about Bohemian Rhapsody...being groundbreaking and the first music video ever etc etc...(which is a bit of a lie anyway, ther...

Everyone is right, i've changed my mind. It's the greatest pop song ever, and the video is groundbreaking.

I get your point, but i think the term i used 'an average song' is hardly a slagging.

Re: White Town / Jyoti Mishra

perhaps i was wrong to use the term 'hipsters' - as in all honesty, i wouldn't know what being a 'hipster' is, never having been one myself ever (sadly). But i just assumed (maybe wrongly) that being chosen to appear in a pop video, you probably were 'hip' or 'cool'. Sorry if i was wrong about that....

Re: White Town / Jyoti Mishra

Oh, I was being *slightly* sarcastic, about the video...I can understand people in it, or those who know people in it and Indietracks regulars thinking it's great, but i thought it was a slightly cheap shot to try and scrape together some interest for a song that on it's own wouldn't have caused man...

Re: White Town / Jyoti Mishra

mean spirited?, No, just me being honest. No point in pretending everything is brilliant, when it so clearly isn't. But if others think it's great, then...well, good for them. I just though as a song it failed to do anything for me.

Re: White Town / Jyoti Mishra

I guess getting loads of 'hipsters' to appear in the video will help shift a few copies of an otherwise very average song.

Re: Horrible Adverts

I totally hate the new McDonnalds advert that is for kids 'Happy meals', and has 'Glad All Over' by The Dave Clark Five playing. A ploy to get the kids when they're young, so by the time they're 16 all they want to eat is shite burgers. ...Horrible. I say take the little kiddies to the slaughterhous...
