Re: Things around the house

Hello. I just put the washing machine on, and part way through the cycle it has stopped. There hasn't been a power cut, I can open the door (though there's a lot of water in the drum so didn't open it far), but I can't seem to get it to start again, whether I turn it off for like 5 minutes, turn it ...

Absolutely brilliant. I love the way the facial expression is the same all the way through. Dogs are great.

I've heard a couple of songs from Terra, and it's sounding great!

Re: Ducktails (and Real Estate too)

I was at that set at Primavera too - absolutely wonderful.

I do really like Arcade Dynamics, but I was listening to the first Ducktails album earlier - so cool and blissy.

Anyone into Julian Lynch?

This is magnificent stuff, courtesy of Football365: Mediawatch is not the biggest fan of Martin 'Mad Dog' Allen, who we're told really doesn't like being called 'Mad Dog'. However, we have to doff our caps to Mad Dog - recently installed as Notts County manager - for his welcome message to the Magpi...

Re: Horrible Adverts

I actually think that's a good advert. I don't find it particularly funny - though it is funnier than most episodes of Mock the Week - but I think it works as an ad, it's pretty well done.

Re: London is great

What time are people getting there? I can be there for 6ish, probably a bit before. I'll be there around 6 too. I finish work at half 5, then it's a nice stroll through Bloomsbury, by which time I'll be ready for a pint. Just out of interest (and it won't be relevant as I'll get cash out when I lea...

Unbelievable! Apparently England bowled (and fielded) absolute mince, but that shouldn't take away from Ireland. They scored 217 off the second 25 overs!

Also, Paul's DJ set after the bands was f-ing brilliant. 'Psycho Killer' by Talking Heads followed by 'Venus' by Television is a segue of dreams. Actually, Paul, if you see this is there any chance you can post the list of songs you played (if that's not too much of a pain to do), as I know there we...

Re: The distant islands fantasy travel thread

I can't look through those links right now, but I remember seeing about St Kilda on Coast (which, presumably, is where that map's from). It was really quite moving. I do have an attachment to the Hebrides, as my grandma was from Harris. I went there when I was very young, and have a vague memory of ...

Here are those driving directions. If each member of Anorak puts in £100 we're sorted.
