Smart Patrol: a club night in London, from Friday 23rd March

Hello, I'm starting a night downstairs at the Slaughtered Lamb in Clerkenwell from 23rd September. It's called Smart Patrol, after a song by Devo, and the theory is that it'll be the 4th Friday of the month thenceforth (unless no-one comes to the first one). It'll be open from about half 8 'til 1am,...

Just imagine if you bought it and moved there, only to find that there was no phone reception. Nightmare.

Re: The Football

This afternoon, thanks to the WSC Weekly Howl, I have mostly been laughing at the photo on the Wikipedia page of Mansfield Town's Louis Briscoe: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Louis_Briscoe&oldid=436927270 It's almost as good as Neil Ruddock's old one: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...

How were I Am in Love? The couple of videos you posted of them were really rather good. Bit of a cringeworthy name though.

Re: Sat July 16th - Kevin Rowland of Dexys DJs at HDIF in Lo

Don't get me wrong, I like Dexys a lot, and I'm most probably going to go to this, I'm just intrigued by the idea of him singing along.

I was actually planning on going dressed as the My Beauty cover.

So he sang along to some songs last time? His own songs, or other people's? With a microphone and everything?

Re: London is great

I'm coming straight from work, so I'll be there by about quarter past 6 (unless I get rained on, in which case I might pop home to get changed first). Only planning on staying for an hour or two though, as I've been out late/got pissed way too much over the last week or so.

Re: The Football

Has anyone been watching the (England matches in the) U21 European Championship? It's pretty depressing. The centre-backs (who look really good) and possibly Lansbury aside, there's very little skill, touch, vision, ability to pick a pass, movement or tactical awareness. I know that a lot of those t...

Re: Manu Chao

Are you kidding? Manu Chao's records are FAR better than the live or Mano Negra stuff. The live stuff borders on SKA-PUNK! Surely the worst kind of music that has ever existed.
