I played the My Sad Captains single about 50 times in a row the other day.

I have no idea if the B-side is any good yet. I've not made it past side A.

I was given a Jesmond Villas CD the other day which is wrapped in brown paper that unfolds into a treasure map. It's lovely.

I think my guitar has some neck problems. It's doing that thing where if it's in tune on lower frets it sounds pretty grim around the 12th fret. There's no real diy fix for that problem, is there? I should change the strings probably, I guess, since they're not helping by being hundreds of years ol...

And the day after in Birmingham on my birthday! Hurrah.

£3 in and it's the first ever pop show at Island Bar too. Birmingham grows another venue!

I bought Where'd You Learn To Kiss That Way? in 2000 knowing nothing about indiepop, but focusing more on the shoegazer tag that was in the product description. After that I got into all those old bands in a major way with finding twee.net and the indiepop-list. Are you me? (that's exactly how I en...

I'm mad, then. I'll try and post some pics of my lovely Fender Jaguar Baritone Custom soon. Oooh, you lucky so and so. I've always wanted to own one of those. Not that I've ever played one but I think it would be the perfect guitar to compliment my Jazzmaster. What does it sound like? I've always t...

Massively - you can buy sheets with loads of animal stickers on from Wooleys for 99p!

I seem to remember a Bis song which started with the quote "If you buy a guitar over 40 pounds...you're mad"

Feedback.

What's worse is that there are so many! I dare you to type feedback into myspace search and look through all 37 pages of them to see if any of them are any good.

Guitars

Ooh, right, let's talk about guitars! Firstly, everyone knows that guitars sound better when they have more stickers are stuck to them - mine has loads of furry hampsters on it.

I've also found a new bloody lush tuning tonight - FCEGBE - theres so many ace chords on it.

60 according to Wikipedia, with three more hypothetical ones (there's evidence for their existance but havent been spotted yet). Cassini discovered a few more this year. Most of them will be little dull rocks though. Titan's the biggest and most mysterious. My favourite is Mimas because it looks lik...

Astrophysics and astronomy and space things

It's 50 years since Sputnik and quite frankly, the whole world changed in a good good way. So lets have a thread dedicated to all things outer space! I really want to go into space but fear that I've been born 5 generations too early, however, I do think that we will find out what life is like on ot...

The FA Cup was made in Birmingham, and that's a fact! Let's start speculating wildly about The Place I Love (new sister venue to the Sunny). Has anyone heard any solid facts about it, the opening seems to keep getting put back, which is a shame because it sounds like it could be a brilliant place fo...
