Re: Orca Team

Week of Wonders is cool. He seems to be using some kind of an octaver or whammy on his guitar on every song, it has a very distinct sound that I like. They are apparently touring west coast in May so he wants to set up a Sunday gig in San Diego and have our band play with them, so that's exciting. M...

Re: <3 We're Mittens from San Diego!

Well, San Diego doesn't really have an obvious "scene," but there are groups of bands that like each other, book gigs with each other, and go to each other's shows, not out of any shared musical interest but out of fun/friendship (b/c we don't sound similar). I don't know in what way and where you w...

Ha that's me. I just did that sort of as a demonstration of how that's my favorite guitar and how you can warble without a whammy bar (because I always lose it) and then it got blogged and now I wish I did a better job.

I'm having a blast listening to your tracks. I really like how you put together your arrangements, it's very neatly done.

<3 We're Mittens from San Diego!

Hi! I've been a bit apprehensive about posting my own material on here but we just finished a couple more demo tracks, so I figured I would. http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/3672/57444336228509715195616.jpg http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/2305/54210136580536346659687.jpg We're a four-piece from sun...

Re: Orca Team

Aww. I was wondering what's going on. My roommate sent me a text saying Leif contacted her band to contact my band about Leif has some new band and might want to play with us in May or something and I was wondering if it was some side project thing but apparently new band, so it's sad but I'm sure t...

My girlfriend got a little kitty. So cute!

She basically is the cuddliest thing. Purrs all day and night and falls asleep on your chest.

Re: Twee - a discussion...

I think part of the reason is that there's a certain negative connotation to music being labeled these things. I mean, twee pop is something I obviously enjoy, however, when I hear something described as such, I think of bands like Cub (you probably think of other similarly cute bands that are a bit...

I've been on the Internet since 1995. I think it was Netscape 1.4 or so. Good times.

So I fell asleep on the couch and when I woke up, my cat was sitting on my leg! I couldn't move! So I grabbed my phone off the coffee table and took a picture.

Oh how nice your hipster cats are. I recently got a girlfriend who is about as cat obsessed as me and it's been a lot of fun just playing with cats all day.

Re: Bass Guitars

Yeah I envy that. It seems like half my favorite artists come from Stockholm, the other half from Gothenburg. I live in San Diego, which has its own advantages. I mean, I hear that the rest of the world has this thing called bad weather, which is like 15 days of the year here. At the same time, the ...

Re: Bass Guitars

Aw I wish I lived in Sweden. Half my favorite bands come from there. I'm a huge Honey is Cool fan, especially. Anyway, I like your cheapo Encore. If you put a proper pickup in it, I'm sure it'll sound just as good as a Fender. I like Precision Basses a lot. I think they have a very basic tone that w...

Re: does the music ever win (even when the creator is a tool

I live in America and I don't particularly cheer for anyone at the club level. But if I had to choose one that I want to succeed above others, it's usually Arsenal. I get really into international soccer, though, and there I cheer for Korea (I'm Korean) and USA. If the two are playing, I don't care ...

Re: does the music ever win (even when the creator is a tool

I honestly don't like to know too much about the musicians I listen to. I think part of listening to music is being able to project my own feelings onto the songs, there's that. But I also think sometimes being a bit of a tool is something that allows you to be a better musician, writer, etc. Lot of...
