Re: Sheffo 08/03 - English Singles/Sweet Nothings/Calculus

Hey, sorry to spam or jag or whatever, but I'm making some adorably/pitifully (delete as appropriate) lofi C Is For Calculus EPs to sell at this and the next gig. Two pounds for four songs for nine minutes. It's ok if you like that sort of thing. No art or sleeve or owt, but the CD has a pelican on ...

Thanks Dan and Hannah for a wonderful show, you'll be sorely missed when you leave for smokier climes.

Third time I've seen the excellent TMB but what a revelation The Spills were!

As was Sheffield - we still enjoyed ourselves though. Wasn't expecting a two-piece, they were very good though.

Re: Running

Mrs FC has runner's knee. Any homebrew cures? I've had ITBS but that was fixed by posture and running mechanics runner's knee is primarily the ITB anyway, so i'd suggest foam rolling the area, google ITB stretches and sticking to them. Also, make sure her shoes are correct for her... standard thing...

Re: Tigercats * C Is For Calculus * Making Marks* Brum sept

Props to Paul for an excellent time, despite my meds. His bandmates make excellent pancake also.

Tigercats were as great as they were at Indietracks. Making Marks were lovely, charismatic and beautiful. Damn that Scandinavian gene pool.

Re: A thread about putting on DIY gigs

Where's best in Sheffield at the minute for DIY gigs? I really want to bring Oxford's Dallas Don't up to play with us, and maybe another out of town band, but I need to guarantee them some petrol moneys - so free-ins are no good. If there's anywhere better than the Red House, we all need to know ab...

Re: Pianos and keyboards.

Probably the best / easiest to use portable synth I've used is the Novation K-Station: http://www.vintagesynth.com/novation/kstation.php Unfortunately they don't seem to be as easy to find as I thought, there aren't any on eBay at the moment. I thought they were everywhere! I used to have one of th...

Re: Mass voting demanded now! Choose 1 of 10 magazine names.

As a teenager I had the strange habbit of often falling asleep to Nirvana's 'Nevermind' and to then suddenly wake up with a shock to that hidden song, 'Endless, nameless'. I did the same and woke up during 'Sick Party' from Ash's debut long-player 1977. Not good. I voted for Hidden Track which I th...

Re: Sheffield

I'm gutted at missing all the Red House stuff, and I really wanted to see JoFo and Oxo Foxo... Next year I will be more organised and buy the damn programme! I would have liked to explore more, but I have a nasty habit of getting lost in Sheffield. Was there a map in the programme? I didn't see one....

Re: Sheffield

Any Tramlines highlights? Or is everybody still hungover?

I missed most of the bands I wanted to see again... But at least I saw Future of the Left and The Nature Set who were great.

Apparently there was a Mr Blobby tribute band... something for everyone.

I was told times will be announced on Twitter (@BandsOnTheMove), and there will be printed times at The Hop (the Buskers' Bus depot).

Re: Indietracks 2012 - the press reviews

I would be more concerned about Tigercats sounding like Vampire Weekend?! what?! I'm not a Vampire Weekend fan, but I do like Tigercats. At a Tigercats gig recently, with a fan of both Tigercats and Vampire Weekend, it was concurred that Tigercats are like a good mix of Vampire Weekend and Architec...

Re: Indietracks 2012 Memories and Photos

My pics are up now if you fancy a look :) Aw, those are good pictures. The coloured lights on the signal box and carriages at night were a nice new touch, were they not? Are they new? It was my first year. My personal highlights were The School on the Friday - loved their energy and melodies. On th...
