Re: Sarah Showcase Tour 2018

Have you tried Rico who puts gigs on at The New Continental in Preston?

Horsebeach

Any fans of Horsebeach on here? I've just picked up a vinyl copy of their latest album "Beauty & Sadness" from Amazon for a fiver. Still copies available at that price. Nice album, slightly different to the first two but still very good.

Documentary about Action Records (Preston)

Action Records is my local record store here in sunny Preston. It's a great shop specialising in indie amongst other genres. I've been shopping in there for more years than I care to remember. Some of you maybe order from them as they do a lot of mail order sales. Anyway, somebody has created a shor...

By The Sea

I'm surprised these guys have never been mentioned on here. I'm just listening to the new album "Endless Days, Crystal Sky" on spotify and it sounds pretty good to me. They've a similar sound to Wild Nothing I would say. A nice melancolic dreamy feel to it and I'm just a sucker for that shimmering d...

Hey alongwaltz - I'm interested to know how the guitar playing is coming along? Your original post was quite some time ago so can you update us on what happened, what guitar you bought etc etc.

Re: Record Store Day

Okay then, who made the effort today? Any stories of all night queuing? I didn't go down to my local store until about mid morning but I managed to get most of the stuff I was after. There was still a long queue at 11.30 though. I felt sorry for the guy in front of me, he picked out tonnes of stuff ...

Re: Record Store Day

The most ridiculous releases slated for this year's event must be the 500 copies only 7" by Coldplay or the 1,000 only Box Dylan 7" box set. You can guarantee they'll be on ebay for silly money in the evening.

Record Store Day

With Record Store Day nearly upon us again I was wondering what people's views of it are on here? Personally I think it's a lot of hype although there always seems to be plenty of records that I really wouldn't mind getting my greasy paws on. I know my local indie store well, i've been a loyal custo...

Re: Allo, Darlin'

What was the cover version they did on Thursday night? I didn't recognise it! Great gig BTW. For a first night of a tour it was a pretty spectacular success I would say. I don't think this band realise how good they are. It must have been a sell out as it was absolutely packed out. I liked the way t...

Las Kellies

Anyone catch their recent gigs? Argentinian band, very good indeed. I saw them at the Deaf Institute along with Las Robertas and I thought they were superb. They write some very simple and catchy songs and have a certain charm about them.
