Re: 2017! What a year

The food was decent - but I think they need an extra stall to get the queues down a bit and offer a bit more choice! The pizza was really good but the wait later in the day, less so! Glad to see people giving this feedback - I was thinking much the same. Hey Dhal's food was lovely, but once they'd ...

Re: radio shows

I'm on Cam FM on alternate(ish) Fridays over the summer, and this Friday's show will feature a fairly lengthy interview with Andrew Laidlaw of Lucky Soul. I found it quite an interesting conversation so hopefully it will be interesting for others to listen to! Its on 97.2FM in Cambridge, online live...

Re: Podcasts

If you prefer your music with someone talking, and occasionally doing battle with a live radio studio, in between - you're in luck! I'm doing a run of shows on community radio over the Christmas / new year period. The first three are up on Mixcloud, though probably nobody's interested in the Christm...

Re: Indiepop Christmas songs wanted for CD

Reply from Rachael: "As far as I remember Radio Orwell were a side project of two former members of Help Stamp Out Loneliness, I've not heard anything else by them so I think the project was short-lived." Thanks Gareth, and by extension Rachael. HSOL were great so I'm not surprised there's a connec...

Re: Your Indietracks 2017 Wishlist

Lucky Soul
Piney Gir
Misty's Big Adventure
Just Joans on the main stage.

And I have also been getting... not jittery, but curious about the lack of confirmed dates.

Re: Indiepop Christmas songs wanted for CD

Really pleased there will be another CD this year! :)

Could I ask a question about a past one? Who are / were Radio Orwell who did the cover of Last Christmas in 2013? I absolutely loved it, but couldn't find them online anywhere - have the same people / person done anything else?

I'd like to add a late vote for Martha Ffion - she'd be a great fit. Hope she applies!

Rob very kindly let me have a new track from his album for my radio show last week (thanks Rob!) - it's up here if you fancy a listen.

Re: Your Indietracks 2016 wishlist

Just a few suggestions from me this year... Returning acts MJ Hibbett and the Validators of course The Just Joans - can we have them on the main stage this time please? That'd be awesome. Misty's Big Adventure - last played in 2009 so well due a return, and hopefully will be plugging a new album Hea...

Re: radio shows

I'm doing shows fortnightly on Cam FM over the summer, and this evening's will be an Indietracks special! All tracks will be by Indietracks bands, an I'll be yakking about this year's festival no doubt. 8-10pm, online at http://www.camfm.co.uk or via the TuneIn app, or 97.2FM if you're in / near Cam...

Re: Congleton Going Up The Country Weekend 2015

Just booked!

I'll be booking a taxi to get to either Holmes Chapel or Macclesfield for a train towards Manchester on the Saturday night - if anyone else is heading off in the same direction and wants to share, drop me a line any time between now and then. :)

The playlist for the first show is here, and you can listen again via the same page. If you like the look (or sound) of it, there's another one next Monday at 8pm!

Re: radio shows

Blatant plug: I'm presenting a show on the community (and, in term-time, student) station in Cambridge, Cam FM. I'll be playing a fair bit of indiepop, and other stuff (hopefully) pleasing to the ear. It's on 97.2FM in Cambridge, and online at http://www.camfm.co.uk, 8-10pm, Monday evening. There's ...

Re: 2015, then...

Here's my wishlist / suggestions... I don't want to get into a "is this indiepop" discussion particularly; but I do think all these acts would find a receptive audience at Indietracks, although I wouldn't necessarily advocate putting all of them on at once! Returning acts (mostly last played 2012 or...

Re: Indietracks 2014 Photos and Memories

If you're nostalgic for the Pacer, pop up to Yorkshire sometime. There are loads of the buggers still working the Northern Rail region. Yes - my grandfather lived in Knaresborough at the end of his life, and I used to watch them going over the viaduct from his living room window (when they were sti...

Re: Indietracks 2014 Photos and Memories

Oh and who won the pop quiz? We scored 70 pts, thanks to my wife knowing the name of every member of S Club 7. That was us ("East Anglia Effluent Services - not my choice of name, and I'd have pushed for something better if I'd thought we were in with a shout of winning!) - we got 78 points, 7 of t...

Re: Indietracks 2014 Photos and Memories

The lost child incident was such a wonderful moment, Gruff handled it marvelously: "another successful mission!" I hope Jude didn't get told off too harshly. I don't think there was much telling-off - I saw the reunion and his father basically just clasped him and sobbed with relief. They were obvi...
