Sun 12 August Woog Riots in London + more!

I'm posting this on behalf of my friends the Woog Riots, who are making a one-off visit to the UK to play this. But they're just one act on a great bill : Woolf Presents Summer Extravaganza Pit Ponies Rude Mechanicals (Jowe Head) Woog Riots David Cronenberg's Wife (Duo) The Stay Aways Scrappy Hood S...

Re: Allo, Darlin'

If anyone is going to this and would be prepared to pick me up a copy of the 7" single that the band are selling, I'd be so so grateful... Same story - if anyone is going to their shows this weekend and can pick up a copy of the 7" (it's for a friend of mine - honestly!), they'd be soooo grateful. ...

I should be coming along to this, although sadly it looks as though I'll have to leg it at 11:30 to catch the last train.

Jowe Head

A legend (Swell Maps, TV Personalities) and still performing. And he's ace live.

This looks super ace. Sadly I'm miles away. But! I've got a mate in Telford so I come down your way every now and again. I'll time a visit to coincide with a forthcoming event and come and dance my socks off.

Re: Melys

Does anybody have a recording of the Peel show from 9 January 2001? This is the show from Groningen with a live set from Melys. No recording appears to be circulating, so I'd love to hear it either in full or in part.

Re: Sheffield

Attention Sheffield! I posted a request in this thread on behalf of my electro-indiepop German friends the Woog Riots recently. There's looking for somewhere to play on Saturday 20th July while they're in the UK for Indietracks. Does anyone know any promoter in Sheffield who might be able to put the...

Ok, the 17th has been sorted so it's just Saturday 20th July that's currently empty. Anyone?

Woog Riots July 17th + 20th (Midlands / North)

Hi all. I've been helping the Woog Riots put together some dates for when they come over to play at Indietracks in July. There's a couple of empty days in their schedule that we'd like to fill, namely Wednesday 17th and Saturday 20th. They'll be in West Yorkshire in between, so something in Liverpoo...

I'm sorry to hear that they've split up too, particularly since I never got to see them play live. Oh well, at least there's a new LP to obtain. The first one is a work of pop brilliance in my opinion.

Re: The Lovely Eggs

I saw them last week playing in Lancaster on the hometown date of the tour; by my reckoning it was my 6th LE gig. The last time I saw them (same venue, funnily enough) was close to two years ago, which is far too long to go in life without some eggy goodness. They were tremendous fun on the night, a...

The Container Drivers: Cardiff / Bristol (Sat night)

Hullo. To tie in with an exciting opportunity in the West Country, the Container Drivers are looking for a gig in the area, on a Saturday preferably. We're mostly a West Yorkshire three piece, "Husker Du meets The Fall", as one wag put it. Or the sound of David Gedge, Frank Black and Mark E Smith ha...
