Clothing considerations
Clothing considerations
So, what's everyone's strategies for this weekend? I'm taking into account weather, sweaty shed/church/train fun, cooler evenings and the fact I'm of an age and basically going layers but leaving my splendid waterproof jacket at home because I'm figuring no heavy downpours
Sensible? Insensible?

Re: Clothing considerations
Living in Manchester I always expect it to rain. Any day and at any time. So my advice would be don't leave your waterproof jacket at home but also pack some sun cream.

Re: Clothing considerations
I'm going for:
- T-Shirt.
- My ace new flares.
- Baseball boots.
- Medium thickness cardigan for if it's a bit on the cool side.
- Smart red cagoule in case it rains.
- Shorts in case it's super hot but probably won't wear them because I'm self conscious about my gammy leg.
- Sun glasses in case it's sunny or if it isn't sunny, just to look cool.
- Sun hat in case it's *very* sunny (which it won't be).

I've got a hat
And three cardigans
I'm not sure about shoes

Re: Clothing considerations
Checked this morning and the Chorusgirl t-shirt I bought in February is still too tight so there's decisions to be made yet!

Re: Clothing considerations
I'm going for the classic spare trousers, waterproof jacket, jumper and 86 t-shirts combo*

And we just can't wait to make more mistakes and to fluff our breaks, and to stuff our faces with cake.

I would definitely consider taking some, particularly if you're going to use the lavatories...linus wrote: I'm not sure about shoes

Re: Clothing considerations
At least 3 waterproofs of varying protection
Rain hat
Vests and t-shirts
Trousers and shorts
Wellies
Thick welly socks
Twelvety fleeces
Waterproof rucksack for the preciouses
Sun hat (barber went a bit mental on my hair on Sunday)
Wooly hat (really, for the tent at night)
Gloves (Reynauds)
Also, no-one has mentioned pants. I'm mentioning pants now. Don't anyone forget pants.
I can be guaranteed to buy at least one t-shirt from the merch tent that doesn't fit me and I will think "it will fit me next year!". Hasn't happened yet.

Pants are optional! Don't oppress the pantless!quimby wrote:Also, no-one has mentioned pants. I'm mentioning pants now. Don't anyone forget pants

Re: Clothing considerations
Shorts and probably sleeveless shirts, but maybe shirts with sleeves or maybe t-shirts.
I've not worn trousers or jumpers for months.

Re: Clothing considerations
I have expanded and so some old fave t-shirts maybe declined. I have a new Michelin t-shirt and a new God Save The Queen pic cover which should do the job. Bought them in Uniqlo last week, I wonder if I'm becoming as bad as those teenage girls you see wearing Ramones t-shirts.
Might wear one of my old Turntable Revolution t-shirts.
After last year's ceaseless deluge I was considering a collection of waterproofs.

Re: Clothing considerations
When I left the house this morning there was a 10 per cent chance of rain, said the met office, so I packed accordingly.
Now there is a 50 per cent chance of rain on Saturday afternoon, I have no wellies, and I sort of feel like I tempted fate.
Sorry everyone. Obviously it's not all about me, but this bit might be my fault.

Yes, being in charge of Jonny's UK umbrella is an actual job.

It is looking pretty lovely now. If you have room for the brolly, yes please, I am loving the tradition of it! We should commemorate the official handing over of the brolly, and such.

I am in the airport. I have thrown caution to wind and not brought a coat! I have a feeling I may be buying some kind of Outer garment in Sainsbury's at about 4pm today. My trainers are suede. I have not packed appropriately.

Re: Clothing considerations
The BBC weather man this morning said it's going to be cold Saturday night and recommended layers for those camping. I think that means Andy wins!
